They glorified us with their own splendors, Indra the destroyer of evil counsels of the wicked. She herself is the seer’s cry who is not set aside here. The near will speak of this; the thrown away, the old does not speak it.
Indra is powerful in discomfiture of the malevolent by his self-glorifying aids, (granted) unto you and unto us; (he is) the tearer o fthe malevolent (to pieces); the impetuous ogre that was sent against us by devouring (foes) to destroy us, has been itself destroyed; it will not reach us; it will not do us harm.
On, for your good and ours, come Indra with the aid of his own lordliness to drive the wicked hence, to rend the evilhearted ones! The weapon which devouring fiends cast at us shall destroy themselves. Struck down, it shall not reach the mark; hurled forth, the fire-brand shall not strike.
