Whoever stays in the eastern dwelling and the man who shares the father's lot — bring them here. O goddess, carry much, O mortal, give gifts; bear to the generous ones the shares of men.
At your dawning, (Uṣā), the various birds rise up from their nests, and men who have to earn their bread (quit their homes). You bring, divine (Uṣā), much wealth to the liberal mortal who is present in the chamber (of sacrifice).
As the birds fly forth from their resting places, so men with store of food rise at thy dawning. Yea, to the liberal mortal who remaineth at home, O Goddess Dawn, much good thou bringest.
