पृ॒थू रथो॒ दक्षि॑णाया अयो॒ज्यैनं॑ दे॒वासो॑ अ॒मृता॑सो अस्थुः । कृ॒ष्णादुद॑स्थाद॒र्या॒३॒॑ विहा॑या॒श्चिकि॑त्सन्ती॒ मानु॑षाय॒ क्षया॑य
pṛthū ratho dakṣiṇāyā ayojyainaṃ devāso amṛtāso asthuḥ kṛṣṇādudasthādaryā3 vihāyāścikitsantī mānuṣāya kṣayāya
A broad chariot made ready on the south, the gods became like immortals. From the black one rose the steadfast steeds, aiding humankind against decay.
The spacious chariot of the graceful (dawn) has been harnessed; the immortal gods have ascended it; the noble and all-pervading Uṣā has risen up from the darkness, bringing health to human habitations.
THE Daksina's broad chariot hath been harnessed: this car the Gods Immortal have ascended. Fain to bring light to homes of men the noble and active Goddess hath emerged from darkness.
