ātharvaṇāyāśvinā dadhīce'śvyaṃ śiraḥ pratyairayatam sa vāṃ madhu pra vocadṛtāyantvāṣṭraṃ yaddasrāvapikakṣyaṃ vām
The Ashvins set the horse upon the Atharvan’s lap, placed the head within his hands. Then they spoke honey to you, and stretched forth the rein which the tenfold ones had sought for you.
You replaced, Aśvins, with the head of a horse, (the head of) Dadhyañc, the son of Atharvan, and, true to his promise, he revealed to you the mystic knowledge which he had learned from Tvaṣṭā, and which was as a ligature of the waist to you.
Ye brought the horse's head, Asvins, and gave it unto Dadhyac the offspring of Atharvan. True, he revealed to you, O WonderWorkers, sweet Soma, Tvastar's secret, as your girdle.
