With winter they set the fire burning, they placed the paternal portion and the sacred vigour before us. The active Atri brought the Ashvins hitherward; all the host prospered.
You quenched with cold (water) the blazing flames (that encompassed Atri), and supplied him with food-supported strength; you extricated him, Aśvins, from the dark (cavern) into which he had been thrown headlong and restored him to every kind of welfare.
Ye warded off with cold the fire's fierce burning; food very rich in nouripliment ye furnished. Atri, cast downward in the cavern, Asvins ye brought, with all his people, forth to comfort.
