आ॒स्नो वृक॑स्य॒ वर्ति॑काम॒भीके॑ यु॒वं न॑रा नासत्यामुमुक्तम् । उ॒तो क॒विं पु॑रुभुजा यु॒वं ह॒ कृप॑माणमकृणुतं वि॒चक्षे॑
āsno vṛkasya vartikāmabhīke yuvaṃ narā nāsatyāmumuktam uto kaviṃ purubhujā yuvaṃ ha kṛpamāṇamakṛṇutaṃ vicakṣe
He tasted like a wolf, he held sway over the brave; the young men, O Nāsatya, were freed. Then the mighty one with forearms beheld the young man and showed mercy, and did not act harshly.
Nāsatyas, leaders, you liberated the quail from the mouth of the dog that had seized her, and you, who are the benefactors of many, have granted to the sage who praises you, to behold (true wisdom).
Ye from the wolf's jaws, as ye stood together, set free the quail, O Heroes, O Nasatyas. Ye, Lords of many treasures, gave the poet his perfect vision as he mourned his trouble.
