idaṃ pitre marutāmucyate vacaḥ svādoḥ svādīyo rudrāya vardhanam rāsvā ca no amṛta martabhojanaṃ tmane tokāya tanayāya mṛḷa
This hymn is called Marut’s speech to the Fathers—growth to Rudra, increasing of our taste and Rudra’s prospering. May immortal food and deathless sustenance come to the soul and to the offspring.
This praise, the sweetest of the sweet, and cause of increase (to the reciter), is addressed to Rudra, the father of the Maruts; immortal Rudra, grant us food sufficient for mortals, and bestow happiness on me, my son, and my grandson.
To him the Maruts' Father is this hymn addressed, to strengthen Rudra's might, a song more sweet than sweet. Grant us, Immortal One, the food which mortals eat: be gracious unto me, my seed, my progeny.
