मा च्छे॑द्म र॒श्मीँरिति॒ नाध॑मानाः पितॄ॒णां श॒क्तीर॑नु॒यच्छ॑मानाः । इ॒न्द्रा॒ग्निभ्यां॒ कं वृष॑णो मदन्ति॒ ता ह्यद्री॑ धि॒षणा॑या उ॒पस्थे॑
mā cchedma raśmīm̐riti nādhamānāḥ pitṝṇāṃ śaktīranuyacchamānāḥ indrāgnibhyāṃ kaṃ vṛṣaṇo madanti tā hyadrī dhiṣaṇāyā upasthe
Do not cut off the ray, O you who bring forth the powers of the fathers; what do the bulls exult in toward Indra and Agni? They approach for the purpose of thought.
Never may we cut off the long line (of posterity); thus soliciting and asking for descendants endowed with the vigour of their progenitors, the (worshippers), begetting children, praise Indra and Agni for their happiness, and they two, destroyers of foes, are nigh (to hear this adoration).
Let us not break the cords: with this petition we strive to gain the powers of our forefathers. For Indra-Agni the strong drops are joyful-, for here in the bowl's lap are both the press-stones.
