aruṇo mā sakṛdvṛkaḥ pathā yantaṃ dadarśa hi ujjihīte nicāyyā taṣṭeva pṛṣṭyāmayī vittaṃ me asya rodasī
May Aruṇa never once, like a wolf, see you going along the paths; when raised from the lowlands you stand firm and, O Dawn, grant me this wealth.
Once, a tawny wolf beheld me faring on my way, and having seen me, rushed upon me, (rearing) as a carpenter, whose back aches (with stooping, standing erect in his work).
A ruddy wolf beheld me once, as I was faring on my path. He, like a carpenter whose back is aching crouched and slunk away. Mark this my woe, ye Earth and Heaven.
