ब्रह्मा॑ कृणोति॒ वरु॑णो गातु॒विदं॒ तमी॑महे । व्यू॑र्णोति हृ॒दा म॒तिं नव्यो॑ जायतामृ॒तं वि॒त्तं मे॑ अ॒स्य रो॑दसी
brahmā kṛṇoti varuṇo gātuvidaṃ tamīmahe vyūrṇoti hṛdā matiṃ navyo jāyatāmṛtaṃ vittaṃ me asya rodasī
Brahman creates; Varuṇa upholds the sacred law and the song. He unfolds new thought in the heart; may fresh understanding be born — grant me this deathless wealth of hers, O Rodaśī.
Varuṇa performs the rite of preservation; we desire him as guide of our way; (to him, the repeater of praise) addresses praise with his (whole) heart; may he who is entitled to laudation become our true (support). Heaven and earth, be conscious of this (my affliction).
Varuna makes the holy prayer. To him who finds the path we pray. He in the heart reveals his thought. Let sacred worship rise anew. Mark this my woe, ye Earth and Heaven.
