He who, lord of breath of the universe and the world, first revealed himself to Brahman—Indra it is who, coming down upon the ten‑stranded people, we invoke as friend with the Maruts.
Who is the lord of all moving and breathing creatures, who first recovered the (stolen) kine for the Brāhmaṇa, and who slew the humbled Dasyus; we invoke to become our friend, Indra, attended by the Maruts.
He who is Lord of all the world that moves and breathes, who for the Brahman first before all found the Cows; Indra who cast the Dasyus down beneath his feet,-him girt by Maruts we invoke to be our Friend.
