कहि अस ब्रह्मभवन मुनि गयऊ। आगिल चरित सुनहु जस भयऊ।। पतिहि एकांत पाइ कह मैना। नाथ न मैं समुझे मुनि बैना।। जौं घरु बरु कुलु होइ अनूपा। करिअ बिबाहु सुता अनुरुपा।। न त कन्या बरु रहउ कुआरी। कंत उमा मम प्रानपिआरी।। जौं न मिलहि बरु गिरिजहि जोगू। गिरि जड़ सहज कहिहि सबु लोगू।। सोइ बिचारि पति करेहु बिबाहू। जेहिं न बहोरि होइ उर दाहू।। अस कहि परि चरन धरि सीसा। बोले सहित सनेह गिरीसा।। बरु पावक प्रगटै ससि माहीं। नारद बचनु अन्यथा नाहीं।।
kahi asa brahmabhavana muni gayaū. āgila carita sunahu jasa bhayaū.. patihi ēkāṃta pāi kaha mainā. nātha na maiṃ samujhē muni bainā.. jauṃ gharu baru kulu hōi anūpā. karia bibāhu sutā anurupā.. na ta kanyā baru rahau kuārī. kaṃta umā mama prānapiārī.. jauṃ na milahi baru girijahi jōgū. giri jaḍa sahaja kahihi sabu lōgū.. sōi bicāri pati karēhu bibāhū. jēhiṃ na bahōri hōi ura dāhū.. asa kahi pari carana dhari sīsā. bōlē sahita sanēha girīsā.. baru pāvaka pragaṭai sasi māhīṃ. nārada bacanu anyathā nāhīṃ..
Having spoken thus, the sage returned to the abode of Brahm (the Creator). Now hear the end of the story how it came about. Finding her husband alone, Men (Himlayas wife) said to him, My lord, I could not follow the words of the sage. If the match, his house and his pedigree are without parallel and worthy of our daughter, the marriage may be concluded. If not, the girl had better remain unmarried; for, my lord, Um is dear to me as my own life. If we fail to secure a match worthy of Girij, everyone will say Himlaya is dull by nature. Keep this in mind, my lord, while concluding an alliance, so that there may be no cause for repentance. Having spoken these words Men laid herself prostrate with her head at the feet of her lord. The lord of mountains, Himlaya, replied in endearing terms, Sooner shall the moon emit flames of fire than the prophecy of Nrada should prove untrue. (1-4)
