That concourse of learned men engaged in the discussion of the ethics of both the Shrutis and the Smritis is not a good assembly,-indeed, that does not deserve to be called so,-entering which a wicked man is not stricken with fear. That men is the foremost of his sex, who having made a proper enquiry after righteousness acts according to the conclusions to which he arrives.
