अतस्तत्र पठेद्विद्वाञ छिवभक्तो दृढव्रतः। यः पठेच्छृणुयाद्वापि स्तवं सर्वमनुत्तमम।।
atastatra paṭhedvidvāñ chivabhakto dṛḍhavrataḥ| yaḥ paṭhecchṛṇuyādvāpi stavaṃ sarvamanuttamam||
Devas said: If one reads this at the installation of Śiva’s image, it establishes the presence of Śiva. It shall be read when there is fear from kings and from thieves, tigers, serpents and lions. It shall be read on the following occasions too, viz:—when there are evil portents, earthquakes, forest fires, dust storms, falling of comets and meteors, stormy gusts of winds without rain and heavy downpour. The learned devotee of Śiva, firm in the observance of holy rites shall read this always.
