Sūta said: The husband shall not indulge in sexual intercourse on the fourth night after the monthly discharge has started. If he indulges thus, the child born will be short-lived. The son born of this sexual contact will be devoid of learning, depraved, deviating from the observance of holy rites, violating the chastity of other men’s wives and immersed in the ocean of penury. The woman should be approached on the fifth night if he seeks a daughter.
