Śrī Vināyaka said:: The following leaders of Gaṇas surrounded Īśa and went forth to chastise the Tripuras:—Keśa, Vigatavāsas, Mahākeśa, Mahājvara, Somavallī, Savarṇa, Somapa, Senaka, Somadhṛk, Sūryavāca, Sūryapeṣaṇaka, Sūryākṣa, Sūrināma, Sura, Sundara, Prakuda, Kakudanta, Kampana, Prakampana, Indra, Indrajaya, Mahābhī, Bhīmaka, Śatākṣa, Pañcākṣa, Sahasrākṣa, Mahodara, Yamajihva, Śatāśva, Kuṇṭhana, Kaṇṭhapūjana, Dviśikha, Triśikha, Pañcaśikha, Muṇḍa, Ardhamuṇḍa, Dīrgha, Piśācāsya, Pinākadhṛk, Pippalāyatana, Aṅgārakāśana, Śithila, Śithilāsya, Akṣapāda, Aja, Kuja, Ajavaktra, Hayavaktra, Gajavaktra, Ūrdhvavaktra and others. They surrounded lord Soma in groups and went ahead. There were thousands and thousands of Rudras of sublimated sexuality. Surrounded by crores and crores of Gaṇas they rallied round Mahādeva, Maheśvara, the lord of Devas and went forth to burn the three cities.
