।।2.62 2.63।।रागादिदोषकारणमाह परिहाराय श्लोकद्वयेन। सम्मोहोऽधर्मेच्छा। तथा हि मोहशब्दार्थ उक्त उपगीतासुमोहसंज्ञितम्। अधर्मलक्षणं च नियतं पापकर्मसु इति। तथाचान्यत्रसम्मोहोऽधर्मकामिता इति। स्मृतिविभ्रमः प्रतिषेधादिस्मृतिनाशः। बुद्धिनाशः सर्वात्मना दोषबुद्धिनाशः। विनश्यति नरकाद्यनर्थं प्राप्नोति। तथा ह्युक्तम् अधर्मकामिनः शास्त्रे विस्मृतिर्जायते यदा। दोषादृष्टेस्तत्कृतेश्च नरकं प्रतिपद्यते।
(Same as 2.62) He states, by the twin verses, the causes of attachment and similar faults so they may be removed. ‘Sammohah’ means unrighteous desire; moha denotes intense delusion. The characteristic of adharmā is settled in sinful deeds. Elsewhere sammohah is defined as adharmakāmitā. Distortion of memory (smṛti-vibhrama) is the annihilation of memory by opposing causes; destruction of intellect (buddhi-nāśa) is the ruin of right thought; the complete ruin of discriminative intellect brings suffering and hell. Thus when forgetfulness arises in those prone to unrighteousness, and faults and their fruits are unseen, they go to hell.
