।।2.46।।तथापि काम्यकर्मिणां फलं ज्ञानिनां न भवतीति साम्यमेवेत्यत आह यावानर्थ इति। यथा यावानर्थः प्रयोजनमुदपाने कूपे भवति तावान्सर्वतः सम्प्लुतोदकेऽन्तर्भवत्येव। एवं सर्वेषु वेदेषु यत्फलं तद्विजानतोऽपि ज्ञानिनो ब्राह्मणस्य फलेऽन्तर्भवति। ब्रह्म अणतीति ब्राह्मणोऽपरोक्षज्ञानी। स हि ब्रह्म गच्छति। विजानत इति ज्ञानफलत्वं तस्य दर्शयति।
Yet he says 'equal are the fruit of the desirous and the fruit of the wise' — meaning: as when a well fills with water up to as high as the outlet, so the fruits present everywhere even for the knower in the Vedas. The Brahmin is the direct knower of Brahman; "vijānataḥ" indicates that the knower attains the fruit of knowledge — that he goes to Brahman.
