The properly determined, discriminative intellect of those persons is not prescribed for samādhi (in the sense of meditative absorption) as an object distinct from samādhi. When the mind, intent on the Lord, is rightly settled on the Lord's determinate purport, that is samādhi — and that is the means to moksha. This statement is not elsewhere given as a direct verbal admission for apprehending that reality; even an instance used in a dream-interpretation (nirukta) shows that household enjoyments should not be taken as authoritative for the essential truth.
