By performing a difficult and severe penance in the holy shrine of the goddess at Umātuṅga, standing on a single foot and abstaining from food, one attains divine brilliance lasting for a Yuga. Śrāddha should always be offered at Umātuṅga, Bhṛgutuṅga, Brahmatuṅga and Mahālaya by a person who wishes for everlasting benefit.
