Sūta said: Brahmā created the cows from his belly and the horses, donkeys, Gavayas (a species of ox), deer, camels, boars and dogs along with the elephants from his sides as well as feet. Other species of animals too were created. The medicinal herbs (and plants and creepers) with fruits and roots were born out of his hairs.
