Brahmanda Purana (GRETIL / Wisdomlib) · 35 · Verse 163
Sanskrit Original
विस्तरस्तु निसर्गस्य संहारस्य च सर्वशः। मन्वन्तरस्य संख्या तु मानुषेण निबोधत।।
vistarastu nisargasya saṃhārasya ca sarvaśaḥ| manvantarasya saṃkhyā tu mānuṣeṇa nibodhata||
Yājñavalkya said:: Manvantaras have elapsed along with the Kalpas, Sages, Pitṛs and the Devas. They are created at the due period. The Yugas come and go. In this manner hundreds and thousands of Kalpas and Manvantaras have gone by along with the subjects. At the end of a Manvantara there is annihilation and at the end of annihilation there is creation. It is impossible to describe in due order the creation and annihilation of the Devas, Sages, Pitṛs and Manvantaras even in the course of hundreds of years.
