Sūta said:: The golden. (Cosmic) Egg and the excellent birth of Brahmā. The Āvaraṇa (The covering ‘sheath’) of the Egg (was) the ocean. The (covering) of the waters by the Tejas (the fiery clement). The (enclosure of the Tejas) by the gaseous element. Then the encircling of the gaseous element by the Ether. Its covering by Bhūtādi (Ego). The Bhūtādi is encircled by Mahat (The Great Principle) and the Mahat is encircled by Avyakta (The unmanifest one).
