Shiva

Om Namah Shivaya

Om Namah Shivaya is the Panchakshara — the five-syllable mantra of Lord Shiva. One of the most sacred mantras in Shaivism, it is chanted for purification, liberation, and union with Shiva. Each of the five syllables (Na-Ma-Shi-Va-Ya) represents one of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, ether) and one of Shiva's five acts of creation.
