Karpur Gauram Mantra

The Karpur Gauram shloka is one of the most beloved Shaiva prayers, recited at the close of every Shiva aarti. It describes Lord Shiva through five powerful images — white as camphor, compassion incarnate, essence of existence, wearing serpents as garlands, and dwelling eternally in the heart — alongside Parvati (Bhavani).

Translation

I bow to Bhava (Shiva) — who is as white and pure as camphor, who is the very incarnation of compassion, who is the essence of all existence, who wears the king of serpents as a garland — who dwells always in the lotus of my heart, together with Bhavani (Parvati).
