कृष्णोऽस्याखरेष्ठोऽग्नये त्वा जुष्टं प्रोक्षामि वेदिरसि बर्हिषे त्वा जुष्टाम प्रोक्षामि बर्हिरसि स्रुग्भ्यस्त्वा जुष्टं प्रोक्षामि।
Kṛṣṇo'syākhareṣṭho'gnaye tvā juṣṭa≈ prokṣāmi vedirasi barhiṣe tvā juṣṭām prokṣāmi barhirasi srugbhyastvā juṣṭa≈ prokṣāmi.
Black and foremost of stalks, Agni, I sprinkle you with fitting libation; O Vedic sap, I sprinkle you fitly; to the priests I sprinkle you fitly.

Vītihotra≈ tvā kave dyumantaṃ samidhīmahi. āgne bṛhantamadhvare.
We offer to you, O poet, radiant Vītihotra, the fuel; Agni, exalt the great one on the eastward path.

आग्ने वाजजिद वाजम त्वा सरिष्यन्तं वाजजितं सम्मार्ज्म। नमो देवेभ्यः स्वधा पितृभ्यः सुयमे मे भूउयास्तम।
āgne vājajid vājam tvā sariṣyanta≈ vājajitaṃ sammārjm. Namo devebhyaḥ svadhā pitṛbhyaḥ suyame me bhūuyāstam.
Agni, victorious in strength, may the strong might come to you; purify the sacrifice. Salutations to the gods, to the Svadhā, to the fathers—may good be to me, be present.

आग्ने वेर्होत्रं वेर्दू उ त्यमवतां त्वां द्यावापृथिवीऽ अव त्वं द्यावापृथिवी स्विष्टकृद्देवेभ्यऽ इन्द्रऽआज्येन हविषा भूउत्स्वाहा सं ज्योतिषा ज्योतिः।
āgne verhotra≈ verdū u tyamavatā≈ tvā≈ dyāvāpṛthivī' ava tva≈ dyāvāpṛthivī sviṣṭakṛddevebhya' indra'ājyena haviṣā bhūutsvāhā sa≈ jyotiṣā jyotiḥ.
O Agni, with oblations and sacred grass I invoke you; May you be like the divine pair Heaven and Earth; be propitious to the gods with clarified butter and barley; Indra, with the sacrificial cake and offering, accept the oblation; may the light of light be present.

मयीदमिन्द्रऽइन्द्रियम दधात्वस्मान रायो मघवानः सचन्ताम। आस्माकम सन्त्वाशिषः सत्या नः सन्त्वाशिषऽउपहूउता पृथिवी मातोप माम पृथिवी माता ह्वयतामग्निराग्नी-ध्रात स्वाहा।
Mayīdamindra'indriyam dadhātvasmān rāyo maghavānaḥ sacantām. āsmākam ` santvāśiṣaḥ satyā naḥ santvāśiṣa'upahūutā pṛthivī mātopa mām pṛthivī mātā hvayatāmagnirāgnī-dhrāt svāhā.
May Indra place this sacred share and power on us; may the generous ones grant us radiance. May our blessings be true; may the Earth, mother, bestow upon me and be propitious. Agni, accept with the fire-bearing oblation; svaha.

एतं ते देव सवितर्यज्ञं प्राहुर्बृहस्पतये ब्रह्मणे। तेन यज्ञमव तेन यज्ञपतिं तेन मामव।
Eta≈ te deva savitaryaj¤a≈ prāhurbṛhaspataye brahmaṇe. Tena yaj¤amava tena yaj¤apati≈ tena māmava.
This sacrifice they proclaimed to you, O Savitar— to Brihaspati, to Brahman. By that sacrifice, by that lord of sacrifice, may they release me.

मनो जूउतिर्जुषतामाज्यस्य बृहस्पतिर्यज्ञमिमं तनोत्वरिष्टं यज्ञम समिमं दधातु। विश्वे देवासऽइह मादयन्तामोम प्रतिष्ठ।
Mano jūutirjuṣatāmājyasya bṛhaspatiryaj¤amima≈ tanotvariṣṭa≈ yaj¤am samima≈ dadhātu. Viśve devāsa'iha mādayantāmom pratiṣṭha.
May mind, splendour and strength of the sacrificial butter be active; Brihaspati, grant this excellent sacrifice quickly and firmly. May all the gods here honor and establish it.

एषा तेऽअग्ने समित्तया वर्धस्व चा च प्यायस्व। वर्धिषीमहि च वयमा च प्यासिषीमहि। आग्ने वाजजिद्वाजं त्वा ससृवाम्सं
Eṣā te'agne samittayā vardhasva cā ca pyāyasva. Vardhiṣīmahi ca vayamā ca pyāsiṣīmahi. āgne vājajidvāja≈ tvā Sasṛvāmsa≈
O Agni, with the firebrand prosper and pour for us; prosper us and make us thirst for (sacrifice). May we increase and may we be those who long; Agni, conquer with the prize-winning force; we press upon you.

वसुभ्यस्त्वा रुद्रेभयस्त्वादित्येभ्यस्त्वा संजानाथां द्यावापृथिवी मित्रावरुणौ त्वा वृष्ट्यावतां। व्यन्तु वयोक्तम रिहाणा मरुतां पृषतीर्गच्छ वशा पृश्निर्भूउत्वा दिवम गच्छ ततो नो वृष्टिमावह। चक्षुष्पाऽअग्नेऽसि चक्षुर्मे पाहि।
Vasubhyastvā rudrebhayastvādityebhyastvā sa≈jānāthā≈ dyāvāpṛthivī mitrāvaruṇau tvā vṛṣṭyāvatā≈. Vyantu vayokta`m rihāṇā marutā≈ pṛṣatīrgaccha vaśā pṛśnirbhūutvā divam gaccha tato no vṛṣṭimāvaha. Cakṣuṣpā'agne'si cakṣurme pāhi.
From riches, from Rudra’s terrors, from the suns, from heaven and earth, from Mitra and Varuna may you—who bring rain—protect us. O Maruts go to the open plain and bring the shower; Pṛśni become powerful, go to the sky and bring down rain for us. Agni, you are our eye; preserve our sight.

सम्स्रवभागा स्थेषा बृहन्तः प्रस्तरेष्ठाः परिधेयाश्च देवाः। ईमां वाचमभि विश्वे गृणन्तऽआसद्यास्मिन बर्हिषि मादयध्व म स्वाहा वाट।
Sa`msravabhāgā stheṣā bṛhantaḥ prastareṣṭhāḥ paridheyāśca devāḥ. īmā≈ vācamabhi viśve gṛṇanta'āsadyāsmin barhiṣi mādayadhva `m svāhā vāṭ.
May the gods, full of streams and abundant, established on the altar and girded, accept this speech here on the grass; all proclaim this and be pleased; I invoke: svaha, O Vat.

घृतची स्थो धुर्यौ पातम सुम्ने स्थः सुम्ने मा धत्तम। यज्ञ नमश्च तऽउप च यज्ञस्य शिवे सन्तिष्ठस्व स्विष्टे मे सन्तिष्ठस्व।
Ghṛtacī stho dhuryau pāta`m sumne sthaḥ sumne mā dhattam. Yaj¤a namaśca ta'upa ca yaj¤asya śive santiṣṭhasva sviṣṭe me santiṣṭhasva.
Place ghee and the clarified butter-cake, O Sumna, O protector; be seated, do not withhold. Hail and uphold the auspicious ritual; remain in the oblation and in my offering, remain.
Yajurveda 2.20 — Agni-Sarasvati Devate

आग्नेऽदब्धायोऽशीतम पाहि मा दिद्योः पाहि प्रसित्यै पाहि दुरिष्ट्यै पाहि दुरद्मन्याऽ अविषं नः पितुम कृणु। सुषदा योनौ स्वाहा वाड-अग्नये संवेशपतये स्वाहा सरस्वत्यै यशोभगिन्यै स्वाहा।
āgne'dabdhāyo'śītama pāhi mā didyoḥ pāhi prasityai pāhi duriṣṭyai pāhi duradmanyā' aviṣa≈ naḥ pitum kṛṇu. Suṣadā yonau svāhā vāŒ-agnaye sa≈veśapataye svāhā sarasvatyai yaśobhaginyai svāhā.
Agni, protect the unfrozen waters; spare us from blindness and misfortune; remove poison from our foes. May the fertile womb be auspicious—svaha. To Vada-Agni, the householder, svaha; to Sarasvatī, bestower of fame, svaha.
Yajurveda 2.22 — Indra Devata

संबर्हिरङ्क्ताम हविषा घृतेन समादित्यैर्वसुभिः सम्मरुद्भिः। समिन्द्रो विश्वदेवेभिरङ्क्तां दिव्यं नभो गच्छतु यत स्वाहा।
Sa≈barhiraΔktā`m haviṣā ghṛtena samādityairvasubhiḥ sammarudbhiḥ. Samindro viśvadevebhiraΔktā≈ divya≈ nabho gacchatu yat svāhā.
With oblations and ghee offered to the Suns, with riches and Maruts, may Indra and all gods take up the portion and go to the divine sky; svaha.
Yajurveda 2.23 — Prajapati Devata

कस्त्वा विमुञ्चति स त्वा विमुञ्चति कस्मै त्वा विमुञ्चति तस्मै त्वा विमुञ्चति। पोषाय रक्षसां भागोऽसि।
Kastvā vimu¤cati sa tvā vimu¤cati kasmai tvā vimu¤cati tasmai tvā vimu¤cati. Poṣāya rakṣasā≈ bhāgo'si.
Whoever frees you, he frees you; to whom you are released, to him you are released. You are portion for the protecting spirits.
Yajurveda 2.24 — Tvashta Devata

सं वर्चसा पयसा सन्तनूउभिरगन्महि मनसा सम शिवेन। त्वष्टा शुदत्रो विदधातु रायोऽनुमार्ष्टु तन्वो यद्विलिष्टम।
Sa≈ varcasā payasā santanūubhiraganmahi manasā sam ` śivena. Tvaṣṭā śudatro vidadhātu rāyo'numārṣṭu tanvo yadviliṣṭam.
With brilliance and nourishing waters strengthen our offspring; with mind and the auspicious one make us grow. O Tvashta Shudra, establish the wealth; make the body attain what is desired.
Yajurveda 2.25 — Vishnu Devata

दिवि विष्णुर्व्यक्रम्स्त जागतेन छन्दसा ततो निर्भक्तो योऽस्मान्द्वेष्टि यम च वयम द्विष्मोऽ न्तरिक्षे विष्णुर्व्यक्र म्स्त त्रैष्टुभेन छन्दसा ततो निर्भक्तो योऽस्मान्द्वेष्टि यं च वयम द्विष्मः पृथिव्याम विष्णुर्व्यक्रंस्त गायत्रेण छन्दसा ततो निर्भक्तो योऽस्मान्द्वेष्टि यं च वयम द्विष्मोऽस्मादन्नाद अस्यै प्रतिष्ठायाऽ अगन्म स्वः सं ज्योतिषाभूउम।
Divi viṣṇurvyakra`msta jāgatena chandasā tato nirbhakto yo'smāndveṣṭi yam ca vayam dviṣmo' ntarikṣe viṣṇurvyakra ` msta traiṣṭubhena chandasā tato nirbhakto yo'smāndveṣṭi ya≈ ca vayam dviṣmaḥ pṛthivyām viṣṇurvyakraṃsta gāyatreṇa chandasā tato nirbhakto yo'smāndveṣṭi ya≈ ca vayam dviṣmo'smādannād asyai pratiṣṭhāyā' aganma svaḥ sa≈ jyotiṣābhūuma.
On high Vishnu moved with metre: awake in the jagat by one metre, he who hates us—may we hate him; in the mid-air Vishnu moved with another metre, he who hates us—may we hate him; on earth Vishnu moved with Gayatri—he who hates us—may we hate him. From this food establish strength and radiant power.
Yajurveda 2.26 — Ishvara Devata

स्वयम्भूउरसि श्रेष्ठो रश्मिर्वर्चोदाऽ असि वर्चो मे देहि। सूउर्यस्यावृतमन्वावर्ते।
Svayambhūurasi śreṣṭho raśmirvarcodā' asi varco me dehi. Sūuryasyāvṛtamanvāvarte.
You are self-existent, best; you are the ray, you are splendour—grant me brilliance. O Sun, turn the circuit of your course.
Yajurveda 2.27 — Agni Devata

आग्ने गृहपते सुगृहपतिस्त्वयाऽग्नेऽहं गृहपतिना भू उ यास म सुगृहपतिस्त्वं मयाऽग्ने गृहपतिना भूउयः। आस्थूउरि णौ गार्हपत्यानि सन्तु शतम हिमाः सूउर्यस्यावृतमन्वावर्ते।
āgne gṛhapate sugṛhapatistvayā'gne'ha≈ gṛhapatinā bhū u yāsa ` m sugṛhapatistva≈ mayā'gne gṛhapatinā bhūuyaḥ. āsthūuri ṇau gārhapatyāni santu śatam ` himāḥ sūuryasyāvṛtamanvāvarte.
Agni, lord of the house, be a good householder through you; I be a householder through you. May two ancestral fires and household rites be a hundred winters while the Sun turns his course.

आग्ने व्रतपते व्रतमचारिषं तदशकं तन्मेऽ राधीऽदमहम यऽ एवाऽस्मि सोऽस्मि।
āgne vratapate vratamacāriṣa≈ tadaśaka≈ tanme' rādhī'damaham ya' evā'smi so'smi.
Agni, lord of vow, keeper of vows, make this hundredfold vow mine; I am that which I worship; so am I.
Yajurveda 2.33 — Pitaras Devata

आधत्त पितरो गर्भं कुमारं पुष्करस्रजम। यथेह पुरुषोऽसत।
Ådhatta pitaro garbha≈ kumāra≈ puṣkarasrajam. Yatheha puruṣo'sat.
Fathers placed a fetus, a boy, the auspicious womb’s offspring—like this the human was born here.

ङुर्जं वहन्तीरमृतं घृतं पयः कीलालं
ªUrja≈ vahantīramṛta≈ ghṛta≈ payaḥ kīlāla≈
Strength-carriers, bearing nectar, ghee, milk, the clay-red (ploughshare).
