Parīto ṣi¤catā suta|m somo ya'uttama|m haviḥ. Dadhanvān yo naryo apsvantarā suṣāva somamadribhiḥ.
The Soma poured around is the best oblation; men who kindle and bear it enjoy Soma like those spirited by the draughts.

Vāyoḥ pū u taḥ pavitreṇa pratyaΔk somo' atidrutaḥ. īndrasya yujyaḥ sakhā. Vāyoḥ pūutaḥ pavitreṇa prāΔk somo atidrutaḥ. īndrasya yujyaḥ sakhā.
When the purifier of the wind, by the sacred rite, pours Soma swiftly, he is a friend allied with Indra.

It purifies you: the widely heard Soma is the daughter of the Sun; by the generative power she is ever enduring.

;ksfue Nānā hi vā≈ devahita|m sadaskṛta≈ mā sa|m sṛkṣāthā≈ parame vyoman. Surā tvamasi śuṣmiṇī soma'eṣa mā mā hi| m sīḥ svā≈ yonimāviśantī.
Various indeed are your forms, beneficial to the gods, revered; preserve us in the supreme heaven. You are the strong one, O Soma; do not harm us; do not enter your own womb (consume yourself).

Taken up, his radiant forces are those of the Ashvins, full of vigour and eloquence.

Tejo'si tejo mayi dhehi vīryamasi vīrya≈ mayi dhehi balamasi balam mayi dhehyojo'syojo mayi dhehi manyurasi manyu≈ mayi dhehi saho'si saho mayi dhehi.
You are energy — impart energy to me; you are heroic strength — grant me heroism; you are might — grant me might; you are vigor — grant me vigor; you are wrath — grant me wrath; you are aid — grant me aid.

या व्याघ्रं विषूउचिकोभौ वृकं च रक्षति। श्येनं पतत्रिणं म सिं म हं म सेमं पात्वंम्हसः।
Yā vyāghra≈ viṣūucikobhau vṛka≈ ca rakṣati. ›yena≈ patatriṇa| m si| m ha| m sema≈ pātva|mhasaḥ.
She who guards the tiger and the spotted one and protects the wolf — may she, like a falcon protecting its wings, preserve me from foes.

देवा यज्ञमतन्वत भेषजं भिषजाऽश्विना। वाचा सरस्वती भिषगिन्द्रायेन्द्रियाणि दधतः।
Devā yaj¤amatanvata bheṣaja≈ bhiṣajā'śvinā. Vācā sarasvatī bhiṣagindrāyendriyāṇi dadhataḥ.
The gods followed the sacrificial law, the physicians (Ashvins) brought medicine. Speech, Sarasvatī, bestowed upon the healer Indra the senses.

दीक्षायै रूउपंम शष्पाणि प्रायणीयस्य तोक्मानि। क्रयस्य रूउपंम सोमस्य लाजाः सोमांम्शवो मधु।
Dīkṣāyai rūupa|m śaṣpāṇi prāyaṇīyasya tokmāni. Krayasya rūupa|m somasya lājāḥ somā|mśavo madhu.
For initiation the form of rites: sacrificial vessels are necessary. For purchase the form of Soma: the offerings of Soma—mead and honey.

आतिथ्यरूउपं मासरं महावीरस्य नग्नहुः।
Åtithyarūupa≈ māsara≈ mahāvīrasya nagnahuḥ.
For hospitality the form is the monthly gift; the great hero became unclothed (i.e., offered himself).

Somasya rūupa≈ krītasya parisrut pariṣicyate. āśvibhyā≈ dugdha≈ bheṣajamindrāyaindra|m sarasvatyā.
The form of Soma is poured out and thoroughly anointed. With horses the milk, the medicinal offering for Indra, Indra and Sarasvatī partake.

आसन्दी रू उ पं म राजासन्द्यै वेद्यै कुम्भी सुराधानी। आन्तरऽउत्तरवेद्या रूउपं कारोतरो भिषक।
Åsandī rū u pa| m rājāsandyai vedyai kumbhī surādhānī. āntara'uttaravedyā rūupa≈ kārotaro bhiṣak.
The form of assent: for royal twilight, for sacred rites, the pitcher holds the offerings; the inner and later-known form makes the chief physician.

;इसु वेद्या वेदिः समाप्यते बर्हिषा बर्हिरिन्द्रियम। यूउपेन यूउपऽ आप्यते प्रणीतोऽ अग्निरग्निना।
;wisu Vedyā vediḥ samāpyate barhiṣā barhirindriyam. Yūupena yūupa' āpyate praṇīto' agniragninā.
The sacred-knowledge and the altar are completed with oblations and external organs. With the libation the libation-offerer attains it, the fire established by the fire.

सरस्वती। ईन्द्रायैन्द्रं म सदस्कृतं पत्नीशालं गार्हपत्यः।
sarasvatī. īndrāyaindra| m sadaskṛta≈ patnīśāla≈ gārhapatyaḥ.
Sarasvatī. For Indra—Indra’s (power) is my celebrated household, the householder’s realm.

प्रैषेभिः प्रैषानाप्नोत्याप्रीभीराप्रीर्यज्ञस्य। प्रयाजेभिरनुयाजान वषट्कारेभिराहुतीः।
Praiṣebhiḥ praiṣānāpnotyāprībhīrāprīryaj¤asya. Prayājebhiranuyājān vaṣaṭkārebhirāhutīḥ.
By offerings (praiṣas) one obtains auspiciousness, by pleasing rites one pleases the sacrifice. By consecrations one follows, by libations at the sixfold act are oblations.

पशुभिः पशूउनाप्नोति पुरोडाशैर्हवींन्ष्या। छन्दोभिः सामिधेनीर्याज्याभिर्वषट्कारान।
Paśubhiḥ paśūunāpnoti puroŒāśairhavī|nṣyā. Chandobhiḥ sāmidhenīryājyābhirvaṣaṭkārān.
With cattle one obtains herds; with priests (purodāśas) the havis (oblation) is sought. With meters (chandas) and chants the Samidhs and oblations render the sixfold rites.

धानाः करम्भः सक्तवः परीवापः पयो दधि। सोमस्य रूउपंम हविषऽआमिक्षा वाजिनं मधु।
Dhānāḥ karambhaḥ saktavaḥ parīvāpaḥ payo dadhi. Somasya rūupa|m haviṣa'āmikṣā vājina≈ madhu.
The grains, barley, pressed cakes, offerings, clarified butter, milk, curds. The form of Soma is the oblation’s taste, the energizing sweet mead.

पयसो रू उ पं यद्यवा दध्नो रू उ पं म कर्कन्धू उ नि। सोमस्य रू उ पं म वाजिनं म सौम्यस्य रूउपमामिक्षा।
Payaso rū u pa≈ yadyavā dadhno rū u pa| m karkandhū u ni. Somasya rū u pa| m vājina| m saumyasya rūupamāmikṣā.
The form of milk—if barley it bears, if curds, then the curdled one. The form of Soma is the energizer’s delight; the form of Saumya is the wished-for.

आ श्रवयेति स्तोत्रियाः प्रत्याश्रावोऽअनुरूउपः। यजेति धाय्यारूउपं प्रगाथा ये यजामहाः।
Å śravayeti stotriyāḥ pratyāśrāvo'anurūupaḥ. Yajeti dhāyyārūupa≈ pragāthā ye yajāmahāḥ.
‘He listens’—those who are praised, their counter-listening is similar. ‘He sacrifices’—thus are the ritual chants recited by those who perform the sacrifices.

आर्धऽऋचैरुक्थानां म रू उ पं पदैराप्नोति निविदः। प्रणवैः शस्त्राणांम रूउपं पयसा सोम आप्यते।
ārdha'ṛcairukthānā| m rū u pa≈ padairāpnoti nividaḥ. Praṇavaiḥ śastrāṇā|m rūupa≈ payasā soma āpyate.
Half the Ṛcs and Ukths—by these forms one attains realms; with fórms of mantras of weapons and with milk Soma is obtained.

आश्विभ्यां प्रातःसवनमिन्द्रेणैन्द्रं माध्यंदिनम। वैश्वदेवं म सरस्वत्या तृतीयमाप्तंम सवनम।
āśvibhyā≈ prātaḥsavanamindreṇaindra≈ mādhya≈dinam. Vaiśvadeva| m sarasvatyā tṛtīyamāpta|m savanam.
In the morning offerings with horses to Indra, midday to Indra; with Sarasvatī to Viśvadeva the third offered oblation is made.

वायव्यैर्वायव्यान्याप्नोति सतेन द्रोणकलशम। कुम्भीभ्यामम्भृणौ सुते स्थालीभिः स्थालीराप्नोति।
Vāyavyairvāyavyānyāpnoti satena droṇakalaśam. Kumbhībhyāmambhṛṇau sute sthālībhiḥ sthālīrāpnoti.
By the northwest winds one obtains wind-pots and a pair of water-jars; from pitchers and jars one obtains metal vessels and plates.

यजुर्भिराप्यन्ते ग्रहा ग्रहैः स्तोमाश्च विष्टुतीः। छन्दोभिरुक्थाशस्त्राणि साम्नावभृथऽआप्यते।
Yajurbhirāpyante grahā grahaiḥ stomāśca viṣṭutīḥ. Chandobhirukthāśastrāṇi sāmnāvabhṛtha'āpyate.
By Yajur hymns the spheres and planets are overcome; praises and laudations. By metres and Ukthas the weapons of the Sama are brought forth.

इडभिर्भक्षानाप्नोति सूउक्तवाकेनाशिषः। शंयुना पत्नीसंयाजान्त्समिष्टयजुषा संम्स्थाम।
IŒabhirbhakṣānāpnoti sūuktavākenāśiṣaḥ. ›a≈yunā patnīsa≈yājāntsamiṣṭayajuṣā sa|msthām.
By the Īḍas one attains foods; by the well-spoken word is blessing. By the harness one joins the wife; by mixed offerings the sacrificial session is established.

व्रतेन दीक्षामाप्नोति दीक्षयऽप्नोति दक्षिणाम। दक्षिणा श्रद्धामाप्नोति श्रद्धया सत्यमाप्यते।
Vratena dīkṣāmāpnoti dīkṣaya'pnoti dakṣiṇām. Dakṣiṇā śraddhāmāpnoti śraddhayā satyamāpyate.
By vow one attains initiation; by initiating one attains the dakṣiṇā (fee). The dakṣiṇā brings faith; by faith truth is attained.

यस्ते रसः सम्भृतऽओषधीषु सोमस्य शुष्मः सुरया सुतस्य। तेन जिन्व यजमानं मदेन सरस्वतीमश्विनाविन्द्रमग्निम।
Yaste rasaḥ sambhṛta'oṣadhīṣu somasya śuṣmaḥ surayā sutasya. Tena jinva yajamāna≈ madena sarasvatīmaśvināvindramagnim.
Whose sap is concentrated in herbs, Soma’s fine essence, by the gods and the son: by him conquer the sacrificer with mead, Sarasvatī, the Ashvins, Indra, Agni.

यदत्र रिप्तं म रसिनः सुतस्य यदिन्द्रोऽ अपीबच्छचीभिः। आहं तदस्य मनसा शिवेन सोमंम राजानमिह भक्षयामि।
Yadatra ripta| m rasinaḥ sutasya yadindro' apībacchacībhiḥ. āha≈ tadasya manasā śivena soma|m rājānamiha bhakṣayāmi.
Where the fat of the sap of the son is poured, where Indra drank with his companions—thus with a benevolent mind I consume Soma here, O king.

पितृभ्यः स्वधायिभ्यः स्वधा नमः पितामहेभ्यः स्वधायिभ्यः स्वधा नमः प्रपितामहेभ्यः स्वधायिभ्यः स्वधा नमः। आक्षन पितरोऽमीमदन्त पितरोऽतीतृपन्त पितरः पितरः शुन्धध्वम।
Pitṛbhyaḥ svadhāyibhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ pitāmahebhyaḥ svadhāyibhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ prapitāmahebhyaḥ svadhāyibhyaḥ svadhā namaḥ. ākṣan pitaro'mīmadanta pitaro'tītṛpanta pitaraḥ pitaraḥ śundhadhvam.
Salutations to the Fathers with offerings of svadhā; salutations to the grandfathers with svadhā; salutations to the great-grandfathers with svadhā. The Fathers have eaten this; the Fathers have been satisfied; Fathers, Fathers, let them be satiated.

आग्नऽआयूउंम्षि पवसऽआ सुवोर्जमिषं च नः। आरे बाधस्व दुच्छुनाम।
āgna'āyūu|mṣi pavasa'ā suvorjamiṣa≈ ca naḥ. Åre bādhasva ducchunām.
O Agni, be auspicious to us with life, with strength, with abundant radiant vigour. Remove from us sorrow and harm.

पुनन्तु मा देवजनाः पुनन्तु मनसा धियः। पुनन्तु विश्वा भूउतानि जातवेदः पुनीहि मा।
Punantu mā devajanāḥ punantu manasā dhiyaḥ. Punantu viśvā bhūutāni jātavedaḥ punīhi mā.
May the gods purify us; may thought and insight purify us. Jātavedas, purify all beings for me.

पवित्रेण पुनीहि मा शुक्रेण देव दीद्यत। आग्ने क्रत्वा क्रतूउंनऽरनु।
Pavitreṇa punīhi mā śukreṇa deva dīdyat. āgne kratvā kratūu|n'ranu.
Purify us with the pure; may the god shine with brightness. Agni, having performed the rite, accept the oblation.

यत्ते पवित्रमर्चिष्यग्ने विततमन्तरा। ब्रह्म तेन पुनातु मा।
Yatte pavitramarciṣyagne vitatamantarā. Brahma tena punātu mā.
Whatever pure offering thou, Agni, shalt place spread forth as an interior offering, may Brahman purify it for us.

पवमानः सोऽअद्य नः पवित्रेण विचर्षणिः। यः पोता स पुनातु मा।
Pavamānaḥ so'adya naḥ pavitreṇa vicarṣaṇiḥ. Yaḥ potā sa punātu mā.
Pavamāna, today be for us a purifying shower with purity. He who is the purifier, may he purify us.
Yajurveda 19.43 — Savita Devata

ऊभाभ्यां देव सवितः पवित्रेण सवेन च। मां पुनीहि विश्वतः।
ūbhābhyā≈ deva savitaḥ pavitreṇa savena ca. Mā≈ punīhi viśvataḥ.
O Savita, by both sides, with purity and with all power, purify me from every side.
Yajurveda 19.45 — Pitara Devata

ये समानाः समनसः पितरो यमराज्ये। तेषा म्ल्लोकः स्वधा नमो यज्ञो देवेषु कल्पताम।
Ye samānāḥ samanasaḥ pitaro yamarājye. Teṣā ` mllokaḥ svadhā namo yaj¤o deveṣu kalpatām.
Those Fathers who are of like mind in Yama’s realm—obeisance and svadhā to them; may sacrifice be ordained among the gods.

ये समानाः समनसो जीवा जीवेषु मामकाः। तेषांम श्रीर्मयि कल्पतामस्मिंन्ल्लोके शतंम समाः।
Ye samānāḥ samanaso jīvā jīveṣu māmakāḥ. Teṣā|m śrīrmayi kalpatāmasmi|nlloke śata|m samāḥ.
Those like-minded souls among the living who are mine—may their prosperity be ordained; in this world may a hundredfold equality be given.

मर्त्यानाम। ताभ्यामिदं विश्वमेजत्समेति यदन्तरा पितरं मातरं च।
martyānām. Tābhyāmida≈ viśvamejatsameti yadantarā pitara≈ mātara≈ ca.
Of mortals: by these two—the world is said to have been measured; between them are father and mother.

ईदंम हविः प्रजननम मेऽअस्तु दशवीरंम सर्वगणं म स्वस्तये। आत्मसनि प्रजासनि पशुसनि लोकसन्यभयसनि। आग्निः प्रजां बहुलां मे करोत्वन्नं पयो रेतोऽअस्मासु धत्त।
īda|m haviḥ prajananam me'astu daśavīra|m sarvagaṇa| m svastaye. Åtmasani prajāsani paśusani lokasanyabhayasani. āgniḥ prajā≈ bahulā≈ me karotvanna≈ payo reto'asmāsu dhatta.
May this oblation for progeny be for me—tenfold heroes, all the hosts—for well-being. Strengthen progeny, cattle, creatures, the realms and protect from fear. Agni, make my progeny numerous; place food, drink and seed among us.

ऊदीरतामवरऽउत्परासऽउन्मध्यमाः पितरः सोम्यासः। आसुं यऽईयुरवृकाऽऋताज्ञास्ते नोऽ वन्तु पितरो हवेषु।
ūdīratāmavara'utparāsa'unmadhyamāḥ pitaraḥ somyāsaḥ. āsu≈ ya'īyuravṛkā'ṛtāj¤āste no' vantu pitaro haveṣu.
May the Fathers—those ascending, descending, middle—be somyā (blessed). May those who have life and are wolves, those knowing ṛta, be at our sacrificial rites.

AΔgiraso naḥ pitaro navagvā'atharvāṇo bhṛgavaḥ somyāsaḥ. Teṣām vaya|m sumatau yaj¤iyānāmapi bhadre saumanase syāma.
Angiras and our Fathers, the new singers, Atharvans, Bhrigus—be somyā. May we be in their auspicious thought, like ritualists, in good-mindedness and peace.

rsfHk; Ye naḥ pūurve pitaraḥ somyāso'nūuhire somapītha≈ vasiṣṭhāḥ. Tebhiryamaḥ sa|mrarāṇo havī|nṣyuśannuśadbhiḥ pratikāmamattu.
Those of old, our Fathers, somyās, who approached the Soma-seat—Vasiṣṭhas—may they, with excellent rites and libations, grant us what we desire.

Tva|m soma pracikito manīṣā tva|m rajiṣṭhamanu neṣi panthām. Tava praṇītī pitaro na indo deveṣu ratnamabhajanta dhīrāḥ.
Soma, thou art famed, wise, thou carriest the foremost path. By thy leading the Fathers and gods sought the treasure; the wise received the jewel among the gods.

By thee our Fathers in ancient rites performed deeds steadfastly. Be thou their strength; make the horses, steeds and steeds' vigor ours.

Barhiṣadaḥ pitara'ū u tyarvāgimā vo havyā cakṛmā juṣadhvam. Ta'āgatāvasā śantamenāthā naḥ śa≈yorarapo dadhāta.
Brahmans (brāhishads), Fathers, having offered, utter your prayer; accept the oblations, rejoice. Let the waters grant us soothing rest and let the oblation of fat be set before us.

vikramaṇa≈ ca viṣṇoḥ. Barhiṣado ye svadhayā sutasya bhajanta pitvasta' ihāgamiṣṭhāḥ.
The prowess and strides of Vishnu. Those brāhishads who serve the son with svadhā, the fathers who wish to come here are invited.

ūpahūutāḥ pitaraḥ somyāso barhiṣyeṣu nidhiṣu priyeṣu. Ta' āgamantu ta' iha śruvantvadhi bruvantu te'vantvasmān.
The offered Fathers, somyās, in the beloved brāhishyas, in treasures and dear things—let them come; let them hear here; let them speak and be present with us.

Fires—your fathers—come here continually, borne from offerings. Having taken the present oblations, they proceed; may they place the sacrificed portion, the abundant wealth, for every hero.

Ye' agniṣvāttā ye'anagniṣvāttā madhye divaḥ svadhayā mādayante. Tebhyaḥ svarāŒasunītimetā≈ yathāvaśa≈ tanva≈ kalpayāti.
Those who are fire-born and those not fire-born, who delight in the midmost heaven with svadhā, — to them may this good rule be measured and appointed in accord with their stations.

djke Åcyā jānu dakṣiṇato niṣadyema≈ yaj¤amabhi gṛṇīta viśve. Mā hi|msiṣṭa pitaraḥ kenacinno yadva' āgaḥ puruṣatā karāma.
Sit at the right knee, speak this rite aloud before the sacrifice, O all: do not injure the fathers by any means; may our fervour bring forth the offering as men do.

Åsīnāso'aruṇīnāmupasthe rayi≈ dhatta dāśuṣe martyāya. Putrebhyaḥ pitarastasya vasvaḥ pra yacchata ta'ihorja≈ dadhāta.
Seated near the ruddy ones, place the rAyí (portion) for the mortal servant; the fathers granted the son wealth—may he give that to the sacrificers this very day.

यमग्ने कव्यवाहन त्वं चिन्मन्यसे रयिम। तन्नो गीर्भिः श्रवाय्यं देवत्रा पनया युजम।
Yamagne kavyavāhana tva≈ cinmanyase rayim. Tanno gīrbhiḥ śravāyya≈ devatrā panayā yujam.
O Agni, eminent carrier of hymns, be mindful of the rAyí. May that praise by voices be heard, joined with divine breath and sacred song.

O Agni, praised, having made delicious offerings and fragrant portions, you gave them by svadhā to the fathers; you, god, having gone forth, accepted the oblation unbroken.

Ye ceha pitaro ye ca neha yā|nśca vidma yā|n'u ca na pravidma. Tva≈ vettha yati te jātavedaḥ svadhābhiryaj¤a|m sukṛta≈ juṣasva.
Some fathers are here, some are not here; some we know, some we do not know. Know thou, O knower of births, where they go; with oblations delight the sacrificed well-done rite and enjoy it.

īda≈ pitṛbhyo namo'astvadya ye pūurvāso ya' uparāsa'īyuḥ. Ye pārthive rajasyā niṣattā ye vā nūuna|m suvṛjanāsu vikṣu.
Homage to the fathers this day—those of old who rose up and those who ascended above; those established in worldly rites, and those who dwell among good folk.

By the froth of the waters Indra turned away the head; all that was unconquered became renowned.

Soma, O king, carried off immortality; by it death was overthrown. By that truth the senses were cleansed—this nectar, O Indra, this ambrosia of milk-like sweetness.

Soma was drunk by the divine beings with zeal; he purified the righteous. By that truth the senses were cleansed—this nectar, O Indra, this ambrosial sweet.

Having seen the distilled sap, with bright splendour the waters poured forth Soma, O progenitor. By that truth the senses were cleansed—this nectar, O Indra, this ambrosial sweet.

सीसेन तन्त्रं मनसा मनीषिणऽऊउर्णासूउत्रेण कवयो वयन्ति। आश्विना यज्ञं म सविता सरस्वतीन्द्रस्य रूउपं वरुणो भिषज्यन।
Sīsena tantra≈ manasā manīṣiṇa'ūurṇāsūutreṇa kavayo vayanti. āśvinā yaj¤a| m savitā sarasvatīndrasya rūupa≈ varuṇo bhiṣajyan.
With mind and counsel, with speech and secret thread, the poets weave the system. The Ashvins, Savitṛ, Sarasvatī, Varuṇa—physicians—perform the sacrifice.
Yajurveda 19.81 — Varuna Devata

तदस्य रूउपममृतंम शचीभिस्तिस्रो दधुर्देवताः संम्रराणाः। लोमानि शष्पैर्बहुधा न तोक्मभिस्त्वगस्य मां म समभवन्न लाजाः।
Tadasya rūupamamṛta|m śacībhistisro dadhurdevatāḥ sa|mrarāṇāḥ. Lomāni śaṣpairbahudhā na tokmabhistvagasya mā| m samabhavanna lājāḥ.
From his form like nectar three goddesses—Shachi and two others—gave ambrosia. Hairs in many parts did not blush; by their touch my limbs were not ashamed.
Yajurveda 19.82 — Ashvinau Devate

तदश्विना भिषजा रुद्रवर्तनी सरस्वती वयति पेशोऽअन्तरम। आस्थि मज्जानं मासरैः कारोतरेण दधतो गवां त्वचि।
Tadaśvinā bhiṣajā rudravartanī sarasvatī vayati peśo'antaram. āsthi majjāna≈ māsaraiḥ kārotareṇa dadhato gavā≈ tvaci.
Then the Ashvins, the healers; Rudra’s course, Sarasvatī flowing, cleanse the inward flesh. They made bone and marrow by months, placing them on the cows’ hide.
Yajurveda 19.83 — Sarasvati Devata

सरस्वती मनसा पेशलं वसु नासत्याभ्यां वयति दर्शतं वपुः। रसं परिस्रुता न रोहितं नग्नहुर्धीरस्तसरं न वेम।
Sarasvatī manasā peśala≈ vasu nāsatyābhyā≈ vayati darśata≈ vapuḥ. Rasa≈ parisrutā na rohita≈ nagnahurdhīrastasara≈ na vema.
Sarasvatī, with mind, bestows the flowing riches, bearing sight and form; the distilled juice flows not red—neither naked nor timid is the herd.
Yajurveda 19.84 — Soma Devata

पयसा शुक्रममृतं जनित्रं म सुरया मूउत्राज्जनयन्त रेतः। आपामतिं दुर्मतिं बाधमानाऽऊउवध्यं वातंम सब्वं तदारात।
Payasā śukramamṛta≈ janitra| m surayā mūutrājjanayanta retaḥ. āpāmati≈ durmati≈ bādhamānā'ūuvadhya≈ vāta|m sabva≈ tadārāt.
By the waters the pure ambrosia of milk is born; the gods engender the semen. Foul mind is afflicted by the sea of waters; the pervasive wind overcomes that malice.

ईन्द्रः सुत्रामा हृदयेन सत्यम पुरोडाशेन सविता जजान। यकृत क्लोमानं वरुणो भिषज्यन मतस्ने वायव्यैर्न मिनाति पित्तम।
īndraḥ sutrāmā hṛdayena satyam puroŒāśena savitā jajāna. Yakṛt klomāna≈ varuṇo bhiṣajyan matasne vāyavyairna mināti pittam.
Indra, with a steadfast heart, truly knew by the sovereign's command; Savitā gave birth. Varuṇa, healing, appeases the inflamed liver; the airy deities reduce bile.
Yajurveda 19.86 — Savita Devata

आन्त्राणि स्थालीर्मधु पिन्वमाना गुदाः पात्राणि सुदुघा न धेनुः। श्येनस्य पत्रं न प्लीहा शचीभिरासन्दी नाभिरुदरं न माता।
Åntrāṇi sthālīrmadhu pinvamānā gudāḥ pātrāṇi sudughā na dhenuḥ. ›yenasya patra≈ na plīhā śacībhirāsandī nābhirudara≈ na mātā.
Intestines are like earthen pots drinking honey; the anus and vessels are not a cow of rich milk. The spleen is not a leaf of the eagle; neither the navel nor the belly are a mother.
Yajurveda 19.87 — Pitarah Devata

कुम्भो वनिष्ठुर्जनिता शचीभिर्यस्मिन्नग्रे योन्यां गर्भो अन्तः। प्लाशिर्व्यक्तः शतधारऽ उत्सो दुहे न कुम्भी स्वधां पितृभ्यः।
Kumbho vaniṣṭhurjanitā śacībhiryasminnagre yonyā≈ garbho antaḥ. Plāśirvyaktaḥ śatadhāra' utso duhe na kumbhī svadhā≈ pitṛbhyaḥ.
The pot (womb) born of the forest-dweller with Shachi in front is a womb within; the embryo lies inside. The plank (flattened vessel) revealed a hundred streams; it does not milk like a pot for offerings to fathers.
Yajurveda 19.89 — Ashvinau Devate

आश्विभ्याम चक्षुरमृतं ग्रहाभ्यां छागेन तेजो हविष शृतेन। पक्ष्माणि गोधू उ मैः कुवलैरुतानि पेशो न शुक्रमसितं वसाते।
āśvibhyām cakṣuramṛta≈ grahābhyā≈ chāgena tejo haviṣa śṛtena. Pakṣmāṇi godhū u maiḥ kuvalairutāni peśo na śukramasita≈ vasāte.
From the two horses comes the ocular nectar; by the planets and the goat the radiance of oblation is offered. Feathers like those of a cow and lotus-flowers are those parts; semen not purified dwells not in loftiness.
Yajurveda 19.90 — Sarasvati Devata

आविर्न मेषो नसि वीर्याय प्राणस्य पन्थाऽ अमृतो ग्रहाभ्याम। सरस्वत्युपवाकैर्व्यानं नस्यानि बर्हिर्बदरैर्जजान।
āvirna meṣo nasi vīryāya prāṇasya panthā' amṛto grahābhyām. Sarasvatyupavākairvyāna≈ nasyāni barhirbadarairjajāna.
A windless ram does not block the path of vigor and life; immortal breath comes through the nostrils. Sarasvatī, with her purifying breaths, produced the vyāna air; outwardly she fashioned the beads and clusters.

च्रेअते थे इम्मोर्तल पस्सगे ओ प्रनिच एनेर्ग्य इन थे नोसे। सरस्वति, नतुरेऽस लोइन्ग वितलित्य, इथ अनिमतिओन अन्द एनेर्ग्य, च्रेअतेस थे स्य्स्तेमिच व्यन ऐर इन थे बोद्य, अन्द इथ ग्रैन्स अन्द रुइत्स, स्हे च्रेअतेस थे हैर-इल्तेर इन थे नोसे।
create the immortal passage of pranic energy in the nose. Sarasvati, nature's flowing vitality, with animation and energy, creates the systemic vyana air in the body, and with grains and fruits, she creates the hair-filter in the nose.

आत्मन्नुपस्थे न वृकस्य लोम मुखे श्मश्रूउणि न व्याघ्रलोम। केशा न शीर्षन्यशसे श्रियै शिख सिंम्हस्य लोम त्विषिरिन्द्रियाणि।
Åtmannupasthe na vṛkasya loma mukhe śmaśrūuṇi na vyāghraloma. Keśā na śīrṣanyaśase śriyai śikha si|mhasya loma tviṣirindriyāṇi.
There is not the wolf’s hair on the self, nor bristling hair in the mouth; hairs are not like tiger’s hair. Hair on the head proclaims glory; the tuft of the lion is the splendour of the senses.

AΔgānyātman bhiṣajā tadaśvinātmānamaΔgaiḥ samadhāt sarasvatī. īndrasya rūupa|m śatamānamāyuścandreṇa jyotiramṛta≈ dadhānāḥ.
Sarasvatī appointed medicines as limbs to the Ashvins and to the self; she granted Indra a hundredfold form and long life; the moon gave luminous immortal light.

सरस्वती योन्यां गर्भमन्तरश्विभ्यां पत्नी सुकृतं बिभर्ति। आपांम रसेन वरुणो न साम्नेन्द्रंम श्रियै जनयन्नप्सु राजा।
Sarasvatī yonyā≈ garbhamantaraśvibhyā≈ patnī sukṛta≈ bibharti. āpā|m rasena varuṇo na sāmnendra|m śriyai janayannapsu rājā.
Sarasvatī bears the womb within the yoni, the virtuous wife for the running horses. Varuṇa, by the sap of waters, begets in the ocean rivers and bestows prosperity in waters to the king.

तेजः पशूउनांम हविरिन्द्रियावत परिस्रुता पयसा सारघं मधु। आश्विभ्यां दुग्धं भिषजा सरस्वत्या सुतासुताभ्याममृतः सोमऽ इन्दुः।
Tejaḥ paśūunā|m havirindriyāvat parisrutā payasā sāragha≈ madhu. āśvibhyā≈ dugdha≈ bhiṣajā sarasvatyā sutāsutābhyāmamṛtaḥ soma' induḥ.
The radiance of beasts is the oblation, like sense and milk spread by cows; by horses the milk is set forth. Sarasvatī’s medicines are milk; for sons and grandsons she made soma and moon as nectar.
