ईषे त्वोर्जे त्वा वायव स्थ देवो वः सविता प्रार्पयतु श्रेष्ठतमाय कर्मणऽ आप्यायध्वमघ्न्याऽइन्द्राय भागम प्रजावतीरनमीवाऽ अयक्ष्मा मा व स्तेनऽ ईशत माघशंसो ध्रुवाऽ अस्मिन गोपतौ स्यात बह्वीर्यजमानस्य पशूउन पाहि।
īṣe tvorje tvā vāyava stha devo vaḥ savitā prārpayatu śreṣṭhatamāya karmaṇa' āpyāyadhvamaghnyā'indrāya bhāgam prajāvatīranamīvā' ayakṣmā mā va stena' īśata māghaśaṃso dhruvā' asmin gopatau syāta bahvīryajamānasya paśūun pāhi.
May the gods grant you power, vigor, wind‑like strength and Savitar auspiciously; partake the choicest share for Indra; may progeny be granted; may no evil eye or thief seize you; may Magha’s praise be fixed; may this lord of kine be long‑lived and protect the cattle of many sacrificers.

वसोः पवित्रमसि द्यौरसि पृथिव्यसि मातरिश्वनो घर्मोऽसि विश्वधाऽअसि। परमेण धाम्ना दृं हस्व मा ह्वार्मा ते यज्ञपतिर्ह्वार्षीत।
Vasoḥ pavitramasi dyaurasi pṛthivyasi mātariśvano gharmo'si viśvadhā'asi. Parameṇa dhāmnā dṛṃ hasva mā hvārmā te yaj¤apatirhvārṣīt.
You are the purifier of Vasas, the heaven and the earth, the mother‑swift (Mātariśvan), heat, and the dispenser of all; by supreme abode grant me strength; be gracious—may the lord of sacrifice favor you.

सा विश्वायुः सा विश्वकर्मा सा विश्वधायाः। ईन्द्रस्य त्वा भागं सोमेनातनच्मि विष्णो हव्यं रक्ष।
Sā viśvāyuḥ sā viśvakarmā sā viśvadhāyāḥ. īndrasya tvā bhāgaṃ somenātanacmi viṣṇo havyaṃ rakṣa.
She is universal life, universal maker, universal ruler. I give to Indra your portion with Soma; Vishnu, protect the offering.

आग्ने व्रतपते व्रतम चरिष्यामि तच्छकेयम तन्मे राध्यताम। ईदमहमनृतात्सत्यमुपैमि।
āgne vratapate vratam cariṣyāmi tacchakeyam tanme rādhyatām. īdamahamanṛtātsatyamupaimi.
O Agni, lord of vows, I will observe the vow; grant that and make it acceptable to me. I avert falsehood and embrace truth.

कस्त्वा युनक्ति स त्वा युनक्ति कस्मै त्वा युनक्ति तस्मै त्वा युनक्ति। कर्मणे वाम वेषाय वाम।
Kastvā yunakti sa tvā yunakti kasmai tvā yunakti tasmai tvā yunakti. Karmaṇe vām veṣāya vām.
Who joins you? He joins you. To whom do you join? To whom you join. In action, for the sheath, for the sheath.

धूउरसि धूउर्व धूउर्वन्तम धूउर्व तम योऽस्मान धूउर्वति तम धूउर्व यम वयम धूउर्वामः। देवानामसि वह्नितमं सस्नितमम पप्रितमम जुष्टतमम देवहूउतमम।
Dhūurasi dhūurva dhūurvantam dhūurva tam yo'smān dhūurvati tam dhūurva yam vayam dhūurvāmaḥ. Devānāmasi vahnitamaṃ sasnitamam papritamam juṣṭatamam devahūutamam.
You burn, you burn, burn the burning one; burn him who burns us; burn him—we burn; may we burn. You are the most blazing among the gods, the most kindled, most gladdened, most pleasing, most fit for sacrifice, supreme among sacrificers.

आह्रुतमसि हविर्धानम दृंहस्व मा ह्वार्मा ते यज्ञपतिर्ह्वार्षीत। विष्णुस्त्वा क्रमतामुरु वातायापहतं रक्षो यच्छन्ताम पञ्च।
āhrutamasi havirdhānam dṛṃhasva mā hvārmā te yaj¤apatirhvārṣīt. Viṣṇustvā kramatāmuru vātāyāpahataṃ rakṣo yacchantām pa¤ca.
You are called Hāvīr, the wealth of oblation; be firm, be gracious—may the lord of sacrifice favor you. O Vishnu, go onward in steps; protect what the winds have struck that the five may seek it.

देवस्य त्वा सवितुः प्रसवेऽश्विनोर्बाहुभ्याम पूउष्णो हस्ताभ्याम। आग्नये जुष्टम गृह्णाम्यग्नीषोमाभ्याम जुष्टम गृह्णामि।
Devasya tvā savituḥ prasave'śvinorbāhubhyām pūuṣṇo hastābhyām. āgnaye juṣṭam gṛhṇāmyagnīṣomābhyām juṣṭam gṛhṇāmi.
O god, you are born of Savitar, like the Ashvins by the arms, like Pūṣan by the hands. To Agni I accept the fitting offering with Agni‑śoma rites; accept the fitting offering.

भूउताय त्वा नारातये स्वरभिविख्येषम दृंहन्ताम दुर्याः पृथिव्यामुर्वन्तरिक्षमन्वेमि। पृथिव्यास्त्वा नाभौ सादयाम्यदित्याऽ उपस्थेऽग्ने हव्यं रक्ष।
Bhūutāya tvā nārātaye svarabhivikhyeṣam dṛṃhantām duryāḥ pṛthivyāmurvantarikṣamanvemi. Pṛthivyāstvā nābhau sādayāmyadityā' upasthe'gne havyaṃ rakṣa.
For earthly being, for the water‑keeper, for the sky‑spreader, make steadfast the herd; may Duryāh stand on earth and mid‑air. For the earth I bring you to the navel; for the sun’s presence, Agni, protect the offering.

शर्मास्यवधूउतं रक्षोऽवधुताऽअरातयोदित्यास्त्वगसि प्रति त्वादितिर्वेत्तु। आद्रिरसि वानस्पत्यो ग्रावासि पृथुबुध्नः प्रति त्वादित्यास्त्वग्वेत्तु।
›armāsyavadhūutaṃ rakṣo'vadhutā'arātayodityāstvagasi prati tvāditirvettu. ādrirasi vānaspatyo grāvāsi pṛthubudhnaḥ prati tvādityāstvagvettu.
Guard the appointed bride’s protection; O guardian, may the suns oppose you? Rocks, you are Vānaspatya, you are Graha—toward the mighty bring the suns to encounter you.

आग्नेस्तनूउरसि वाचो विसर्जनम देववीतये त्वा गृह्णामि बृहद्ग्रावासि वानस्पत्यः सऽइदम देवेभ्यो हविः शमीष्व सुशमि शमीष्व। हविष्कृदेहि हविष्कृदेहि।
āgnestanūurasi vāco visarjanam devavītaye tvā gṛhṇāmi bṛhadgrāvāsi vānaspatyaḥ sa'idam devebhyo haviḥ śamīṣva suśami śamīṣva. Haviṣkṛdehi haviṣkṛdehi.
Agni, you are the body of speech’s sending forth; to the god‑victory accept this oblation from the great Vānaspatyas; grant it to the gods; appease with Šamī; grant the oblation, grant the oblation.

धृष्टिरस्यपाऽग्नेऽ अग्निमामादं जहि निष्क्रव्यादं सेधा देवयजम वह। ध्रुवमसि पृथिवीम दृंह ब्रह्मवनि त्वा क्षत्रवनि सजातवन्युपदधामि भ्रातृव्यस्य वधाय।
Dhṛṣṭirasyapā'gne' agnimāmāda≈ jahi niṣkravyādaṃ sedhā devayajam vaha. Dhruvamasi pṛthivīm dṛṃha brahmavani tvā kṣatravani sajātavanyupadadhāmi bhrātṛvyasya vadhāya.
Bold one’s waters, Agni—take away this fire, cast it forth; bring the established sacrificial rite. You are steadfast as earth—uphold the world; to the warrior‑band I assign the kṣatra‑forest for the slaying of a brother.

आग्ने ब्रह्म गृभ्णीष्व धरुणमस्यन्तरिक्षम दृंह बृअह्मवनि त्वा क्षत्रवनि सजातवन्युपदधामि भ्रातृव्यस्य वधाय। धर्त्रमसि दिवम दृंह ब्रह्मवनि त्वा क्षत्रवनि सजातवन्युपदधामि भ्रातृव्यस्य वधाय। विश्वाभ्यस्त्वाशाभ्यऽउपदधामि चित स्थोर्ध्वचितो भृगूउणा-मङ्गिरसाम तपसा तप्यध्वम।
āgne brahma gṛbhṇīṣva dharuṇamasyantarikṣam dṛṃha bṛahmavani tvā kṣatravani sajātavanyupadadhāmi bhrātṛvyasya vadhāya. Dhartramasi divam dṛṃha brahmavani tvā kṣatravani sajātavanyupadadhāmi bhrātṛvyasya vadhāya. Viśvābhyastvāśābhya'upadadhāmi cita sthordhvacito bhṛgūuṇā-maΔgirasām tapasā tapyadhvam.
Agni, take the sacred Brahman, the support of sky and mid‑air; uphold the brahman‑forest, place the kṣatra‑forest for the slaying of a brother. You are Upholder of heaven—uphold with brahman‑forest; likewise I place universal hopes and, with Bhṛgu‑like sages, perform ascetic practices.
Yajurveda 1.19 — Agni Devata

शर्मास्यवधूउतम रक्षोऽवधूउताऽअरातयोऽदित्यास्त्वगसि प्रति त्वादितिर्वेत्तु। धिषणासि पर्वती प्रति त्वादित्यास्त्वग्वेत्तु दिवस्कम्भनीरसि धिषणासि पार्वतेयी प्रति त्वा पर्वती वेत्तु।
›armāsyavadhūuta`m rakṣo'vadhūutā'arātayo'dityāstvagasi prati tvāditirvettu. Dhiṣaṇāsi parvatī prati tvādityāstvagvettu divaskambhanīrasi dhiṣaṇāsi pārvateyī prati tvā parvatī vettu.
Guard the wedding’s protection; O guardian, may the suns oppose you? You who are mountain‑powers, let the suns know you; O mountain Parvatī, let Parvatī be known to you.
Yajurveda 1.22 — Yajna Devata

जनयत्यै त्वा संयौमीदमग्नेरिदमग्नीषोमयोरिषे त्वा घर्मोऽसि विश्वायुरुरुप्रथाऽ उरु प्रथस्वोरु। ते यज्ञपतिः प्रथतामग्निष्टे त्वचं मा हिंसीद्देवस्त्वा सविता श्रपयतु वर्षिष्ठेऽधि नाके।
Janayatyai tvā sa≈yaumīdamagneridamagnīṣomayoriṣe tvā gharmo'si viśvāyururuprathā' uru prathasvoru. Te yaj¤apatiḥ prathatāmagniṣṭe tvaca≈ mā hiṃsīddevastvā savitā śrapayatu varṣiṣṭhe'dhi nāke.
I beget you, I unite you—this Agni, this Agni‑śoma of both I make fit; you are heat, universal life, ample, foremost. As lord of sacrifice may you go before the fires; harm not your skin; O Savitar, favor you in the highest year above the sky.
Yajurveda 1.30 — Yajna Devata

आदित्यै रास्नासि विष्णोर्वेष्पोऽस्यूउर्जे त्वाऽदब्धेन त्वा चक्षुषावपश्यमि। आग्नेर्जिह्वासि सुहू उ र्देवेभ्यो धाम्ने धाम्ने मे भव यजुषे यजुषे।
ādityai rāsnāsi viṣṇorveṣpo'syūurje tvā'dabdhena tvā cakṣuṣāvapaśyami. āgnerjihvāsi suhū u rdevebhyo dhāmne dhāmne me bhava yajuṣe yajuṣe.
You are for the Adityas, for Rāsna, for Vishnu the bee; in vigor I see you with unblinking eyes. Agni, you are tongue—be propitious to the gods, be the abode in the hymn, be present in the ritual.
Yajurveda 1.31 — Yajna Devata

सवितुस्त्वा प्रसवऽ उत्पुनाम्यच्छिद्रेण पवित्रेण सू उ र्यस्य रश्मिभिः। सवितुर्वः प्रसवऽ उत्पुनाम्यच्छिद्रेण पवित्रेण सूउर्यस्य रश्मिभिः। तेजोऽसि शुक्रमस्यमृतमसि धाम नामासि प्रियम देवानामनाधृष्टम देवयजनमसि।
Savitustvā prasava' utpunāmyacchidreṇa pavitreṇa sū u ryasya raśmibhiḥ. Saviturvaḥ prasava' utpunāmyacchidreṇa pavitreṇa sūuryasya raśmibhiḥ. Tejo'si śukramasyamṛtamasi dhāma nāmāsi priyam devānāmanādhṛṣṭam devayajanamasi.
Savitar, you cause birth and arise through the pure cleft—by the sun’s rays. You are radiant, bright, immortal, a beloved home; you are dear to the gods, revered in their worship.
