Garuda carried the Varuna umbrella and the gem mountain, along with Hrisikesa, playfully.

tataḥ śaṅkham upādhmāsīt svargadvāragato hariḥ upatasthus tato devāḥ sārghyapātrā janārdanam ||
Then, Hari, having blown the conch, approached the heavenly gate, and the gods gathered around Janardana.

sa devair arcitaḥ kṛṣṇo devamātur niveśanam sitābhraśikharākāraṃ praviśya dadṛśe 'ditim ||
He, worshipped by the gods, entered the abode of the divine mother, and saw Aditi, resembling a white mountain peak.

sa tāṃ praṇamya śakreṇa saha te kuṇḍalottame dadau narakanāśaṃ ca śaśaṃsāsyai janārdanaḥ ||
He, bowing to her, along with Shakra, gave the supreme ear-rings and declared the destruction of hell to Janardana.

Then, pleased, the mother of the universe praised Hari, the sustainer of the worlds, with an unwavering mind.

Salutations to you, O Lotus-eyed one, who grants fearlessness to the devotees, the eternal soul, the all-pervading spirit, the essence of all beings.

praṇetā manaso buddher indriyāṇāṃ guṇātmaka triguṇātīta nirdvandva śuddha sarvahṛdisthita ||
The initiator of the mind, the essence of intellect, the qualities of the senses, beyond the three gunas, free from duality, pure and residing in all hearts.

Unblemished by the long-lasting and the infinite, untouched by birth and other conditions, free from dreams and their illusions.

saṃdhyā rātrir aho bhūmir gaganaṃ vāyur ambu ca hutāśano mano buddhir bhūtādis tvaṃ tathācyuta ||
The evening, night, day, earth, sky, air, and water, as well as the fire, mind, and intellect, you are indeed the origin of all beings.

sṛṣṭisthitivināśānāṃ kartā kartṛpatir bhavān brahmaviṣṇuśivākhyābhir ātmamūrtibhir īśvara ||
You are the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of the universe, the lord of all actions, and the divine essence manifesting as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.

The gods, Yakshas, Daityas, Rakshasas, Siddhas, serpents, Kooṣmāṇḍas, ghosts, Gandharvas, and humans are all your creations.

Animals, birds, insects, and also all reptiles, as well as all types of plants, shrubs, and creepers are your creations.

sthūlā madhyās tathā sūkṣmāḥ sūkṣmāt sūkṣmatarāś ca ye dehabhedā bhavān sarve ye kecit pudgalāśrayāḥ ||
The gross, the subtle, and the most subtle bodies, as well as all those who have different forms, are all dependent on you.

māyā taveyam ajñātaparamārthātimohinī anātmany ātmavijñānaṃ yayā mūḍho nirudhyate ||
This illusion of yours, O Lord, is the one that deludes the ignorant about the ultimate reality, and through which the fool is bound in the non-self.

अहं ममेति भावो ऽत्र यत पुंसाम अभिजायते संसारमातुर मायायास तवैतन नाथ चेष्टितम ।।
ahaṃ mameti bhāvo 'tra yat puṃsām abhijāyate saṃsāramātur māyāyās tavaitan nātha ceṣṭitam ||
The feeling of 'I' and 'mine' arises in beings due to this; O Lord, this is the action of your maternal illusion in the world.

यैः स्वधर्मपरैर नाथ नरैर आराधितो भवान ते तरन्त्य अखिलाम एतां मायाम आत्मविमुक्तये ।।
yaiḥ svadharmaparair nātha narair ārādhito bhavān te taranty akhilām etāṃ māyām ātmavimuktaye ||
Those who worship you, O Lord, with their own dharma, cross this entire illusion for the liberation of the self.

brahmādyāḥ sakalā devā manuṣyāḥ paśavas tathā viṣṇumāyāmahāvartamohāndhatamasā vṛtāḥ ||
All the gods, including Brahma, humans, and animals, are enveloped in the great illusion of Vishnu, surrounded by the darkness of ignorance.

ārādhya tvām abhīpsante kāmān ātmabhavakṣayam yad ete puruṣā māyā saiveyaṃ bhagavaṃs tava ||
Those who worship you desire the fulfillment of their wishes and the destruction of their own existence; this illusion is indeed yours, O Lord.

mayā tvaṃ putrakāminyā vairipakṣakṣayāya ca ārādhito na mokṣāya māyāvilasitaṃ hi tat ||
I worship you, O desire for a son, for the destruction of enemies; this is not for liberation, for it is indeed an illusion created by Maya.

कौपीनाच्छादनप्राया वाञ्छा कल्पद्रुमाद अपि जायते यद अपुण्यानां सो ऽपराधः स्वदोषजः ।।
kaupīnācchādanaprāyā vāñchā kalpadrumād api jāyate yad apuṇyānāṃ so 'parādhaḥ svadoṣajaḥ ||
The desire that arises from the covering of a loincloth is indeed an offense born of one's own faults.

तत प्रसीदाखिलजगन्मायामोहकराव्यय अज्ञानं ज्ञानसद्भावभूतं भूतेश नाशय ।।
tat prasīdākhilajaganmāyāmohakarāvyaya ajñānaṃ jñānasadbhāvabhūtaṃ bhūteśa nāśaya ||
O Lord of all beings, please be gracious and remove the ignorance that is the essence of knowledge and delusion in this entire universe.

namas te cakrahastāya śārṅgahastāya te namaḥ gadāhastāya te viṣṇo śaṅkhahastāya te namaḥ ||
Salutations to you, O one with the discus in hand; salutations to you, O one with the bow in hand; salutations to you, O Vishnu, with the mace in hand; salutations to you, O one with the conch in hand.

etat paśyāmi te rūpaṃ sthūlacihnopalakṣitam na jānāmi paraṃ yat te prasīda parameśvara ||
I see your form, marked by gross characteristics; I do not know the ultimate truth of you; please be gracious, O Supreme Being.

adityaivaṃ stuto viṣṇuḥ prahasyāha surāraṇim mātā devi tvam asmākaṃ prasīda varadā bhava ||
Thus praised, Vishnu, with a smile, said to the celestial beings: 'Mother, Devi, be gracious to us, O bestower of boons.'

evam astu yathecchā te tvam aśeṣaiḥ surāsuraiḥ ajeyaḥ puruṣavyāghra martyaloke bhaviṣyasi ||
So be it, as you wish. You, who are invincible, will dwell in the mortal world, surrounded by all the gods and demons.

Then, immediately, along with Indra and the others, Satyabhama bowed down and repeatedly said: 'Be gracious.'

matprasādān na te subhru jarā vairūpyam eva ca bhaviṣyaty anavadyāṅgī sarvakālaṃ bhaviṣyasi ||
By my grace, O beautiful-eyed one, you will not experience old age or ugliness; you will remain flawless at all times.

Then, having received permission, the king of the gods, Aditi, worshipped Janardana appropriately with great honor.

Then Krishna, assisted by Satyabhama, saw the divine gardens, the delightful Nandana gardens, O best of beings.

dadarśa ca sugandhāḍhyaṃ mañjarīpuṣpadhāriṇam śaityāhlādakaraṃ tāmrabālapallavaśobhitam ||
He saw the fragrant, flower-laden branch, which was refreshing and adorned with tender copper leaves.

mathyamāne 'mṛte jātaṃ jātarūpopamatvacam pārijātaṃ jagannāthaḥ keśavaḥ keśisūdanaḥ ||
As the nectar was being churned, the Parijata flower, resembling gold, emerged, O Lord of the Universe, Keshava, the slayer of Kesi.

taṃ dṛṣṭvā prāha govindaṃ satyabhāmā dvijottama kasmān na dvārakām eṣa nīyate kṛṣṇa pādapaḥ ||
Seeing him, Satyabhama, the best of the twice-born, spoke to Govinda, saying, 'Why is this Krishna tree not taken to Dvaraka?'

yadi te tad vacaḥ satyaṃ satyātyarthaṃ priyeti me madgehaniṣkuṭārthāya tad ayaṃ nīyatāṃ taruḥ ||
If your words are true, and truly dear to me, let this tree be taken for the purpose of my abode.

na me jāmbavatī tādṛg abhīṣṭā na ca rukmiṇī satye yathā tvam ity uktaṃ tvayā kṛṣṇāsakṛt priyam ||
Neither Jambavati nor Rukmini is desired by me, as you have said, O Krishna, my beloved.

सत्यं तद यदि गोविन्द नोपचारकृतं तव तद अस्तु पारिजातो ऽयं मम गेहविभूषणम ।।
satyaṃ tad yadi govinda nopacārakṛtaṃ tava tad astu pārijāto 'yaṃ mama gehavibhūṣaṇam ||
If that is true, O Govinda, that you have not offered this, then let this Parijata be my household ornament.

I desire to shine among the co-wives, holding the blossom of the Parijata in my hair.

ity uktaḥ sa prahasyaināṃ pārijātaṃ garutmati āropayām āsa haris tam ūcur vanarakṣiṇaḥ ||
Thus addressed, he secretly placed the Parijata on Garuda, and the monkeys spoke to him.

bho śacī devarājasya mahiṣī tatparigraham pārijātaṃ na govinda hartum arhasi pādapam ||
O Shachi, the queen of the king of gods, you do not deserve to take away the Parijata tree, O Govinda.

śacīvibhūṣaṇārthāya devair amṛtamanthane utpādito 'yaṃ na kṣemī gṛhītvainaṃ gamiṣyasi ||
For the adornment of Shachi, this was produced by the gods during the churning of nectar; O Kshemi, you will not take it and go.

devarājo mukhaprekṣo yasyās tasyāḥ parigraham mauḍhyāt prārthayase kṣemī gṛhītvainaṃ hi ko vrajet ||
The king of the gods, who is the observer of faces, desires the possession of that one; who will go, O Kshemi, if you ask for it out of ignorance?

अवश्यम अस्य देवेन्द्रो निष्कृतिं कृष्ण यास्यति वज्रोद्यतकरं शक्रम अनुयास्यन्ति चामराः ।।
avaśyam asya devendro niṣkṛtiṃ kṛṣṇa yāsyati vajrodyatakaraṃ śakram anuyāsyanti cāmarāḥ ||
Certainly, the lord of the gods will attain liberation; the celestial fans will follow Indra, who wields the thunderbolt.

tad alaṃ sakalair devair vigraheṇa tavācyuta vipākakaṭu yat karma tan na śaṃsanti paṇḍitāḥ ||
Thus, O Achyuta, all the gods are satisfied with your form; the learned do not praise that action which bears bitter fruit.
