kakudmini hate 'riṣṭe dhenuke vinipātite pralambe nidhanaṃ nīte dhṛte govardhanācale ||
When the demon was killed on the mountain, and the cow was thrown down, the death of Pralamba was ensured, held up by Govardhana.

दमिते कालिये नागे भग्ने तुङ्गद्रुमद्वये हतायां पूतनायां च शकटे परिवर्तिते ।।
damite kāliye nāge bhagne tuṅgadrumadvaye hatāyāṃ pūtanāyāṃ ca śakaṭe parivartite ||
When Kaliya was subdued, and the two tall trees were broken, and Putana was killed, the cart was overturned.

kaṃsāya nāradaḥ prāha yathāvṛttam anukramāt yaśodādevakīgarbhaparivartādy aśeṣataḥ ||
Narada spoke to Kamsa, recounting everything in order, about the transformation of the womb of Yashoda and Devaki, in detail.

श्रुत्वा तत सकलं कंसो नारदाद देवदर्शनात वसुदेवं प्रति तदा कोपं चक्रे सुदुर्मतिः ।।
śrutvā tat sakalaṃ kaṃso nāradād devadarśanāt vasudevaṃ prati tadā kopaṃ cakre sudurmatiḥ ||
Hearing this, Kansa, with a wicked mind, became furious at Vasudeva after seeing the divine form through Narada.

सो ऽतिकोपाद उपालभ्य सर्वयादवसंसदि जगर्ह यादवांश चैव कार्यं चैतद अचिन्तयत ।।
so 'tikopād upālabhya sarvayādavasaṃsadi jagarha yādavāṃś caiva kāryaṃ caitad acintayat ||
Overcome by great anger, he thought about the actions to be taken against all the Yadavas and to punish the Yadava descendants.

यावन न बलम आरूढौ रामकृष्णौ सुबालकौ तावद एव मया वध्याव असाध्यौ रूढयौवनौ ।।
yāvan na balam ārūḍhau rāmakṛṣṇau subālakau tāvad eva mayā vadhyāv asādhyau rūḍhayauvanau ||
As long as Rama and Krishna, the strong boys, have not attained strength, I will not be able to kill them, for they are invincible in their youth.

चाणूरो ऽत्र महावीर्यो मुष्टिकश च महाबलः एताभ्यां मल्लयुद्धेन घातयिष्यामि दुर्मदौ ।।
cāṇūro 'tra mahāvīryo muṣṭikaś ca mahābalaḥ etābhyāṃ mallayuddhena ghātayiṣyāmi durmadau ||
Here, the great warrior Chanura and the mighty Mushtika, I will kill these proud ones through wrestling.

धनुर्महमहायागव्याजेनानीय तौ व्रजात तथा तथा यतिष्यामि यास्येते संक्षयं यथा ।।
dhanurmahamahāyāgavyājenānīya tau vrajāt tathā tathā yatiṣyāmi yāsyete saṃkṣayaṃ yathā ||
With the great bow and through the means of a great sacrifice, let them go; thus I will ensure their destruction.

श्वफल्कतनयं सो ऽहम अक्रूरं यदुपुंगवम तयोर आनयनार्थाय प्रेषयिष्यामि गोकुलम ।।
śvaphalkatanayaṃ so 'ham akrūraṃ yadupuṃgavam tayor ānayanārthāya preṣayiṣyāmi gokulam ||
I am the son of Śvaphalka, Akrūra, the best among the Yadus. For the purpose of bringing them, I will send to Gokula.

वृन्दावनचरं घोरम आदेक्ष्यामि च केशिनम तत्रैवासाव अतिबलस ताव उभौ घातयिष्यति ।।
vṛndāvanacaraṃ ghoram ādekṣyāmi ca keśinam tatraivāsāv atibalas tāv ubhau ghātayiṣyati ||
I will observe the terrifying one who roams Vrindavan, and there, that very powerful one will kill both.

गजः कुवलायापीडो मत्समीपम उपागतौ घातयिष्यति वा गोपौ वसुदेवसुताव उभौ ।।
gajaḥ kuvalāyāpīḍo matsamīpam upāgatau ghātayiṣyati vā gopau vasudevasutāv ubhau ||
The elephant, having approached the place near me, will kill either of the two cowherds, the sons of Vasudeva.

इत्य आलोच्य स दुष्टात्मा कंसो रामजनार्दनौ हन्तुं कृतमतिर वीरम अक्रूरं वाक्यम अब्रवीत ।।
ity ālocya sa duṣṭātmā kaṃso rāmajanārdanau hantuṃ kṛtamatir vīram akrūraṃ vākyam abravīt ||
Thus reflecting, the wicked-hearted Kansa, with the intention to kill, spoke to the brave Akrūra about Rāma and Janārdana.

भो भो दानपते वाक्यं क्रियतां प्रीतये मम इतः स्यन्दनम आरुह्य गम्यतां नन्दगोकुलम ।।
bho bho dānapate vākyaṃ kriyatāṃ prītaye mama itaḥ syandanam āruhya gamyatāṃ nandagokulam ||
O Lord of gifts, let my words be fulfilled with joy. From here, let us mount the chariot and proceed to Nandagokula.

वसुदेवसुतौ तत्र विष्णोर अंशसमुद्भवौ नाशाय किल संभूतौ मम दुष्टौ प्रवर्धतः ।।
vasudevasutau tatra viṣṇor aṃśasamudbhavau nāśāya kila saṃbhūtau mama duṣṭau pravardhataḥ ||
The sons of Vasudeva, born from a part of Vishnu, are indeed destined for destruction, as they are my wicked offspring.

धनुर्महो ममाप्य अत्र चतुर्दश्यां भविष्यति आनेयौ भवता गत्वा मल्लयुद्धाय ताव उभौ ।।
dhanurmaho mamāpy atra caturdaśyāṃ bhaviṣyati āneyau bhavatā gatvā mallayuddhāya tāv ubhau ||
A great bow will also be here on the fourteenth day; you both should go for the wrestling match.

चाणूरमुष्टिकौ मल्लौ नियुद्धकुशलौ मम ताभ्यां सहानयोर युद्धं सर्वलोको ऽत्र पश्यतु ।।
cāṇūramuṣṭikau mallau niyuddhakuśalau mama tābhyāṃ sahānayor yuddhaṃ sarvaloko 'tra paśyatu ||
Let the world witness the battle between my two wrestlers, Chanura and Mushtika, who are skilled in combat.

नागः कुवलयापीडो महामात्रप्रचोदितः स वा हनिष्यते पापौ वसुदेवात्मजौ शिशू ।।
nāgaḥ kuvalayāpīḍo mahāmātrapracoditaḥ sa vā haniṣyate pāpau vasudevātmajau śiśū ||
The serpent Kuvalayapida, urged by the chief minister, will indeed kill the wicked sons of Vasudeva.

तौ हत्वा वसुदेवं च नन्दगोपं च दुर्मतिम हनिष्ये पितरं चेमम उग्रसेनं च दुर्मतिम ।।
tau hatvā vasudevaṃ ca nandagopaṃ ca durmatim haniṣye pitaraṃ cemam ugrasenaṃ ca durmatim ||
Having killed them, I will also slay Vasudeva and Nandagopa, and this wicked Ugrasena.

ततः समस्तगोपानां गोधनान्य अखिलान्य अहम वित्तं चापहरिष्यामि दुष्टानां मद्वधैषिणाम ।।
tataḥ samastagopānāṃ godhanāny akhilāny aham vittaṃ cāpahariṣyāmi duṣṭānāṃ madvadhaiṣiṇām ||
Then I will take away all the wealth of the entire cowherd community, for the wicked ones who desire to kill me.

त्वाम ऋते यादवाश चैते दुष्टा दानपते मयि एतेषां च वधायाहं यतिष्ये ऽनुक्रमात ततः ।।
tvām ṛte yādavāś caite duṣṭā dānapate mayi eteṣāṃ ca vadhāyāhaṃ yatiṣye 'nukramāt tataḥ ||
Without you, these Yadavas are wicked, O lord of charity. I will strive to kill them in due course.

ततो निष्कण्टकं सर्वं राज्यम एतद अयादवम प्रशासिष्ये त्वया तस्मान मत्प्रीत्या वीर गम्यताम ।।
tato niṣkaṇṭakaṃ sarvaṃ rājyam etad ayādavam praśāsiṣye tvayā tasmān matprītyā vīra gamyatām ||
Then I will govern this entire kingdom without any obstacles. Therefore, O hero, let it be done with my pleasure.

यथा च माहिषं सर्पिर दधि चाप्य उपहार्य वै गोपाः समानयन्त्य आशु त्वया वाच्यास तथा तथा ।।
yathā ca māhiṣaṃ sarpir dadhi cāpy upahārya vai gopāḥ samānayanty āśu tvayā vācyās tathā tathā ||
Just as the cowherds quickly bring the butter and curds, so you should be addressed in the same way.

इत्य आज्ञप्तस तदाक्रूरो महाभागवतो द्विज प्रीतिमान अभवत कृष्णं श्वो द्रक्ष्यामीति सत्वरः ।।
ity ājñaptas tadākrūro mahābhāgavato dvija prītimān abhavat kṛṣṇaṃ śvo drakṣyāmīti satvaraḥ ||
Thus instructed, Akrura, the great devotee, became joyful and said, 'I will see Krishna tomorrow.'

तथेत्य उक्त्वा च राजानं रथम आरुह्य शोभनम निश्चक्राम तदा पुर्या मथुराया मधुप्रियः ।।
tathety uktvā ca rājānaṃ ratham āruhya śobhanam niścakrāma tadā puryā mathurāyā madhupriyaḥ ||
Thus speaking, the beloved of the gods mounted his splendid chariot and then departed from the city of Mathura.
