मागधानां बार्हद्रथानां भविष्याणाम अनुक्रमं कथयामि। अत्र हि वंशे महाबला जरासंधप्रधाना बभूवुः।।
māgadhānāṃ bārhadrathānāṃ bhaviṣyāṇām anukramaṃ kathayāmi| atra hi vaṃśe mahābalā jarāsaṃdhapradhānā babhūvuḥ||
I will narrate the succession of the Magadhas and Barhadrathas. Indeed, in this lineage, the mighty ones, led by Jarasandha, will arise.

जरासंधसुतात सहदेवात सोमापिस तस्माच छृतवांस तस्याप्य अयुतायुस ततश च निरमित्रस तत्तनयः सुक्षत्रस तस्माद अपि बृहत्कर्मा। ततश च सेनजित तस्माच च श्रुतंजयस ततो विप्रस तस्य पुत्रः शुचिनामा भविष्यति। तस्यापि क्षेम्यस ततश च सुव्रतः सुव्रताद धर्मस ततः सुश्रमः। ततो दृढसेनस ततः सुमतिस तस्मात सुबलस तस्य सुनीतो भविता। ततः सत्यजित सत्यजितो विश्वजित तस्यापि रिपुंजयः पुत्रः। इत्य एते बार्हद्रथा भूपतयो वर्षसहस्रम एकं भविष्यन्तीति।।
jarāsaṃdhasutāt sahadevāt somāpis tasmāc chṛtavāṃs tasyāpy ayutāyus tataś ca niramitras tattanayaḥ sukṣatras tasmād api bṛhatkarmā| tataś ca senajit tasmāc ca śrutaṃjayas tato vipras tasya putraḥ śucināmā bhaviṣyati| tasyāpi kṣemyas tataś ca suvrataḥ suvratād dharmas tataḥ suśramaḥ| tato dṛḍhasenas tataḥ sumatis tasmāt subalas tasya sunīto bhavitā| tataḥ satyajit satyajito viśvajit tasyāpi ripuṃjayaḥ putraḥ| ity ete bārhadrathā bhūpatayo varṣasahasram ekaṃ bhaviṣyantīti||
This Ripunjaya, named Barhadratha, will have a minister named Munika. He will kill his master and anoint his own son, named Pradyotana. From him, a son named Palaka will arise. Then, from Vishakhayupa, his son Janaka and Nandivardhana will follow. Thus, these five Pradyotas will rule the earth for thirty-three centuries.
