daityeśvarasya tu vadhāyākhilalokotpattisthitivināśakāriṇāpūrvaṃ tanugrahaṇaṃ kurvatā nṛsiṃharūpam āviṣkṛtam| tatra tu hiraṇyakaśipor viṣṇur ayam ity etan na manasy abhūt||
To kill the demon king and to cause the creation, sustenance, and destruction of the entire universe, He assumed the form of Narasimha. But it was not in the mind of Hiranyakashipu that Vishnu would take this form.

निरतिशयपुण्यजातसमुद्भूतम एतत सत्त्वम इति रजोद्रेकप्रेरितैकाग्रमतिस तद्भावनायोगात ततो ऽवाप्तवधहैतुकीं निरतिशयाम एवाखिलत्रैलोक्याधिक्यधारिणीं दशाननत्वे भोगसंपदम अवाप।।
niratiśayapuṇyajātasamudbhūtam etat sattvam iti rajodrekapreritaikāgramatis tadbhāvanāyogāt tato 'vāptavadhahaitukīṃ niratiśayām evākhilatrailokyādhikyadhāriṇīṃ daśānanatve bhogasaṃpadam avāpa||
This essence, born from immense merit, is called sattva, which is inspired by the predominance of rajas and focused through meditation. From this, one attains the ultimate cause of liberation, which is the supreme wealth of all three worlds, manifesting in the form of the ten-headed one.

nātas tasminn anādinidhane parabrahmabhūte bhagavaty anālambanīkṛte manasas tallayam| daśānanatve 'py anaṅgaparādhīnatayā jānakīsaktacetaso dāśarathirūpadhāriṇas tadrūpadarśanam evāsin nāyam acyuta ity āsaktir vipadyato 'ntaḥkaraṇasya mānuṣabuddhir eva kevalam asyābhūt||
In that state, there is no dependence on the eternal, supreme Brahman, the divine, which is beyond the mind's grasp. Even in the form of the ten-headed one, being under the influence of love for Janaki, Dasaratha manifests that form. Thus, the attachment to the imperishable is solely the human intellect's creation.

Again, he attained the result of merely falling from the imperishable, which is praised throughout the entire earth, being born in the royal family, and the wealth of power was attained in the form of Shishupala.

tatra tv akhilāny eva bhagavannāmakāraṇāny abhavan| tataś ca tatkāraṇakṛtānāṃ teṣām aśeṣāṇām evācyutanāmnām anavaratam anekajanmasaṃvardhitavidveṣānubandhicitto vinindanasaṃtarjanādiṣūccāraṇam akarot||
There, all the names of the Lord became the causes. Then, from those causes, the countless beings, who are endowed with the name Acyuta, were constantly bound by the enmity developed over many births, and they engaged in harsh words and actions.

tac ca rūpam utphullapadmadalāmalākṣam atyujjvalapītavastradhāry amalakirīṭakeyūrakaṭakopaśobhitam udārapīvaracaturbāhuśaṅkhacakragadādharam atiprauḍhavairānubhāvād aṭanabhojanasnānāsanaśayanādiṣv aśeṣāvasthāntareṣu naivāpayayāv asyātmacetasaḥ||
That form, adorned with a blooming lotus-like face, brilliant yellow garments, and an immaculate crown, is embellished with beautiful armlets and bracelets. With four strong arms holding a conch, discus, and mace, he remains unaffected by the various states of existence, including eating, bathing, sitting, and lying down.

tam evākrośeṣūccārayaṃs tam eva hṛdayena dhārayann ātmavadhāya bhagavadastacakrāṃśumālojjvalam akṣayatejaḥsvarūpaṃ paraṃ brahmasvarūpam apagatarāgadveṣādidoṣaṃ bhagavantam adrākṣīt||
He, who is the supreme form of Brahman, shining with the brilliance of the divine wheel, I saw him, free from all faults such as attachment and aversion, holding him in my heart while calling out in anguish.

tāvac ca bhagavaccakreṇāśu vyāpāditas tena tatsmaraṇadagdhākhilāghasaṃcayo bhagavataivāntam upanītas tasminn eva layam upayayau| etat tavākhilaṃ mayābhihitam| ayaṃ hi bhagavān kīrtitaḥ saṃsmṛtaś ca dveṣānubandhenāpy akhilasurāsurādidurlabhaṃ phalaṃ prayacchati kim uta samyag bhaktimatām| vasudevasyānakadundubheḥ pauravīrohiṇīmadirābhadrādevakīpramukhā bahvyaḥ patnyo 'bhavan||
Thus, by the divine wheel, the entire collection of sins was burned by the remembrance of Him, and He was brought to the ultimate state of dissolution. This is all that I have spoken to you. Indeed, the Lord, when remembered, grants the rare fruits even to those bound by enmity. Many wives of Vasudeva, including Devaki, were born.

balabhadrasāraṇaśaṭhadurmadādīn putrān rohiṇyām ānakadundubhir utpādayām āsa| balabhadro 'pi revatyāṃ niśaṭholmukau putrāv ajanayat| mārṣṭimārṣimacchiśiśiśusatyadhṛtipramukhāḥ sāraṇasyātmajāḥ| bhadrāśvabhadrabāhudurdamabhūtādyā rohiṇyāḥ kulajāḥ||
From Rohini, the son of Anakadundubhi, Balabhadra produced sons like Shatha and Durmada. Balabhadra also begot two sons in Revati. The sons of Saran were Marṣṭi, Marṣima, and others. The noble daughters of Rohini included Bhadrashva, Bhadrabahu, and Durdamabhuta.

nandopanandakṛtakādyā madirāyās tanayāḥ| bhadrāyāś copanidhigadādyāḥ| vaiśālyāṃ ca kauśikam ekam ajanayat| ānakadundubhir devakyām api kīrtimatsuṣeṇodāyibhadrasenarjudāsabhadradevākhyāḥ ṣaṭ putrā jajñire||
The daughters of Nanda and Upananda, and others, were born. Bhadraya's daughters and others were born. In Vaishali, one son was born to Kaushika. In Devaki, six sons named Kirtimat, Suṣena, and others were born to Anakadundubhi.

tāṃś ca sarvān eva kaṃso ghātitavān| anantaraṃ ca saptamaṃ garbham ardharātre bhagavatprahitā yoganidrā rohiṇyā jaṭharam avakṛṣya nītavatī||
Kamsa killed all of them. After that, in the middle of the night, the seventh embryo, placed by the Lord, was taken away by Rohini from her womb.

Then, the Lord, who is beyond all beings and is the essence of all worlds, bowed to by all deities and sages, descended into the womb of Devaki as Vasudeva.

jātena ca tenākhilam evaitat sanmārgavarti jagad akriyata| bhagavato 'py atra martyaloke 'vatīrṇasya ṣoḍaśasahasrāṇy ekottaraśatādhikāni bhāryāṇām abhavan| tāsāṃ ca rukmiṇīsatyabhāmājāmbavatīcāruhāsinīpramukhā hy aṣṭau patnyaḥ pradhānā| tāsu cāṣṭāyutāni lakṣaṃ ca putrāṇāṃ bhagavān akhilamūrtir anādimān ajanayat||
From that birth, the entire world followed the righteous path. In this mortal realm, the Lord descended with more than sixteen thousand one hundred and eight wives, among whom Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, and Charuhasini were the foremost. He also begot eighty million sons.

तेषां च प्रद्युम्नचारुदेष्णसाम्बादयस त्रयोदश प्रधानाः। प्रद्युम्नो ऽपि रुक्मिणस तनयां ककुद्वतीं नामोपयेमे। तस्याम अस्यानिरुद्धो जज्ञे। अनिरुद्धो ऽपि रुक्मिण एव पौत्रीं सुभद्रां नामोपयेमे। तस्याम अस्य वज्रो ऽभवत। वज्रस्य प्रतिबाहुस तस्यापि सुचारुः। एवम अनेकशतसाहस्रपुरुषसंख्यस्य यदुकुलस्य पुरुषसंख्या वर्षशतैर अपि ज्ञातुं न शक्यते।।
teṣāṃ ca pradyumnacārudeṣṇasāmbādayas trayodaśa pradhānāḥ| pradyumno 'pi rukmiṇas tanayāṃ kakudvatīṃ nāmopayeme| tasyām asyāniruddho jajñe| aniruddho 'pi rukmiṇa eva pautrīṃ subhadrāṃ nāmopayeme| tasyām asya vajro 'bhavat| vajrasya pratibāhus tasyāpi sucāruḥ| evam anekaśatasāhasrapuruṣasaṃkhyasya yadukulasya puruṣasaṃkhyā varṣaśatair api jñātuṃ na śakyate||
