pāpe 'py apāpaḥ puruṣe 'py abhidhatte priyāṇi yaḥ maitrīdravāntaḥkaraṇas tasya muktiḥ kare sthitā ||
Even in sin, the person who does not commit sins speaks sweetly; for such a person, liberation is firmly established in the heart of friendship.

priyam uktaṃ hitaṃ naitad iti matvā na tad vadet śreyas tatra hitaṃ vākyaṃ yady apy atyantam apriyam ||
One should not speak what is unpleasing, even if it is beneficial. The beneficial speech is that which is pleasing, even if it is extremely unpleasing.
