What the Lord has said is that the group is of seven kinds in the sphere of the sun; the cause of the cold and heat, I have heard that.

saiṣa viṣṇuḥ sthitaḥ sthityāṃ jagataḥ pālanodyataḥ ṛgyajuḥsāmabhūto 'ntaḥ savitur dvija tiṣṭhati ||
This is Vishnu, who stands in the state of preservation of the universe, being the essence of the Rig, Yajur, and Sama Vedas, and resides within the sun, O twice-born.

In every month, the sun, who is supreme, indeed manifests the divine power of Vishnu, which is full of the essence of the three Vedas.

ṛcas tapanti pūrvāhṇe madhyāhne ca yajūṃṣy atha bṛhadrathantarādīni sāmāny ahnaḥ kṣaye ravau ||
The verses shine in the early morning and noon, and the great rituals and others are performed during the common day when the sun sets.

This portion is the three Vedas of Vishnu, known as Rig, Yajur, and Sama; the power of Vishnu manifests in the eternal sun.

na kevalaṃ raveḥ śaktir vaiṣṇavī sā trayīmayī brahmātha puruṣo rudras trayam etat trayīmayam ||
Not only is the power of the sun Vaishnavi, but it is also the essence of the three Vedas, Brahma, and the Purusha, and this triad is indeed of the three Vedas.

सर्गादौ ऋङ्मयो ब्रह्मा स्थितौ विष्णुर यजुर्मयः रुद्रः साममयो ऽन्ताय तस्मात तस्याशुचिर ध्वनिः ।।
sargādau ṛṅmayo brahmā sthitau viṣṇur yajurmayaḥ rudraḥ sāmamayo 'ntāya tasmāt tasyāśucir dhvaniḥ ||
In the beginning of creation, Brahma is composed of sound, Vishnu is of the essence of Yajur, and Rudra is of the essence of Sama; therefore, from Him arises the sound that is pure.

एवं सा सात्त्विकी शक्तिर वैष्णवी या त्रयीमयी आत्मसप्तगणस्थं तं भास्वन्तम अधितिष्ठति ।।
evaṃ sā sāttvikī śaktir vaiṣṇavī yā trayīmayī ātmasaptagaṇasthaṃ taṃ bhāsvantam adhitiṣṭhati ||
Thus, that Sattvic power, which is Vaishnavi and composed of the three Vedas, rests upon the radiant one, who is situated in the sevenfold self.

तया चाधिष्ठितः सो ऽपि जाज्वलीति स्वरश्मिभिः तमः समस्तजगतां नाशं नयति चाखिलम ।।
tayā cādhiṣṭhitaḥ so 'pi jājvalīti svaraśmibhiḥ tamaḥ samastajagatāṃ nāśaṃ nayati cākhilam ||
By that, He is also illuminated, and with His rays, He dispels the darkness of the entire universe and leads to its destruction.

स्तुवन्ति तं वै मुनयो गन्धर्वैर गीयते पुरः नृत्यन्त्य अप्सरसो यान्ति तस्य चानु निशाचराः ।।
stuvanti taṃ vai munayo gandharvair gīyate puraḥ nṛtyanty apsaraso yānti tasya cānu niśācarāḥ ||
The sages praise Him; He is sung by the Gandharvas, and the Apsaras dance before Him, while the nocturnal beings follow Him.

vahanti pannagā yakṣaiḥ kriyate 'bhīṣusaṃgrahaḥ vālakhilyās tathaivainaṃ parivārya samāsate ||
The serpents carry Him, the Yakshas perform the gathering of offerings, and the Valakhilyas surround Him.

नोदेता नास्तमेता च कदाचिच छक्तिरूपधृक विष्णुर विष्णोः पृथक तस्य गणः सप्तविधो ऽप्य अयम ।।
nodetā nāstametā ca kadācic chaktirūpadhṛk viṣṇur viṣṇoḥ pṛthak tasya gaṇaḥ saptavidho 'py ayam ||
Neither does the power of Vishnu diminish nor does it ever cease; this Vishnu, distinct from others, has a group of seven forms.

The person who approaches the mirror standing still attains the reflection of his own shadow.

The Lord, who eternally nurtures the ancestors, gods, and humans, causes the cycle of day and night, O twice-born.

sūryaraśmiḥ suṣumṇo yas tarpitas tena candramāḥ kṛṣṇapakṣe 'maraiḥ śaśvat pīyate vai sudhāmayaḥ ||
The rays of the sun, when satisfied, nourish the moon, which is always fed by the immortals during the dark fortnight.

The two-fold moon, during the waning phase, is drunk by the forefathers; thus, they perform offerings to the sun.

पक्षतृप्तिं तु देवानां पितॄणां चैव मासिकीम शश्वत तृप्तिं च मर्त्यानां मैत्रेयार्कः प्रयच्छति ।।
pakṣatṛptiṃ tu devānāṃ pitṝṇāṃ caiva māsikīm śaśvat tṛptiṃ ca martyānāṃ maitreyārkaḥ prayacchati ||
The monthly satisfaction of the gods and forefathers, and the eternal satisfaction of mortals, is granted by the sun.
