He who cleaves the sea with a moving wave, the king, the god, upholds the great cosmic order; the seers, by Mitra and Varuṇa’s ordinance, uphold the vast law.

Three voices call forth: the fire rouses the thought of unrighteousness, the seers’ intellect; the cows go to the herdsman, asking; the priests go to Soma, seeking like eager ones.

Cows and kine seek Soma; the priests inquire of Soma with minds; Soma is sung, being born and poured; in Soma the sunlike meters (triṣṭubh) are renewed.

You came, O mighty one, in the great month of Vrishnya; all Vrishnis (clans) with noble hosts. Come to us, O generous one, like the cow-mother Gomati; go with splendid shields and radiant forms.

O Kanvas, behold Dhṛṣṇava and Dhṛṣad-vāja, the thousandfold. O generous one, in striving you took the form of Pishaṅga; we invoke the cow-honoring (Gomantam).

Streams (taranis) reverence the strength, O Purandhi yoked. Hail to that Purohita Indra; with the voiced hymn bind the rim (wheel) like a bolt.

Three voices roar; cows low, the milch cows moo. 'Hari,' so the small bell sounded.

The Brahmins chanted toward the sacrificer; the mothers of the sacrificer purified with the rite. They cleansed like the newborn of the sky (day).

The kings and the four oceans are to us, Soma, universally. O flowing one, be thousands-fold (in your blessing).

The most honeyed sons are Soma, decreed for Indra, mild. Pure, imperishable offerings go to the gods; may they come to you as their gifts.

They said: 'Indra, to Indra be purified.' Vāchaspati (lord of speech) is acclaimed, the ruler of the world, puissant in vigor.

The sea pours a thousand streams with speech-blunting breakers. Soma's lord, friend of the Rathis (rich ones), gives riches day by day.

Your purified limbs are spread abroad, O Brahmanaspati; the Lord measures limbs everywhere. The unheated body then does not taste that food; the heard ones bore it and laid it down.
