Agni indeed grants to the swift-armed one in plenty, the rejoicer of all; Agni, born as a king, goes forth pleased — bestow the treasure on the worshippers.

O awakened Agni, fuel and people like cows, toward whom the ritual moved as evening; as the chant we surged forth, like the radiant ones we breathed, the stream flowed over the nostrils.

O awakened priest, set the gods above; Agni, with good minds, stood at dawn. The bright one, seer of the blazing, dispelled the great gloom; the gods released the darkness.

If among the host the firmly fastened, pure yoked cattle are bound, Agni is yoked with right‑hand; the wealthy ones sacrifice, lifting upward the foremost and downward with offerings.

Like the surge they grazed, shining white; the black one sprang from barns of others. Kinsmen alike, immortal nectar, the heavens moved, coloring the sky—O Aminā, they went about.

O Agni shining like a spear, common to the hosts and enlivening life, may divine speech be present. May the chariots indeed go to the course, the Asvins bringing warmth as they drank.

na sa.NskR^itaM pra mimIto gamiShThAnti nUnamashvinopastuteha | divAbhipitvevasAgamiShThA pratyavarttiM dAshuShe shambhaviShThA
Not refined ritual will they approach; indeed the Asvins will not be praised here. Having passed the day, they will return with sacrifice, O Shambhavī, to the dwellers of the morning.

Already they went to the confluence at dawn; at midday the sun rose. By day and night was peace now; the yellow Asvins, tireless, were invoked.

These banners of the dawn made the former cleaving of the light in the half of the rājasa; the bright ones brandished weapons like released arms; the herds ran toward the mothers with heat.

The sun‑born, ruddy ones rose but in vain; the cows could not reach; untended were the swift winds formerly that distressed the shining sun and the ruddy ones sought refuge.

Women bear away the waters not with equal measures; through unequal joining they pour forth. Bearing this, the beneficent Sudānava and all‑praisers support the sacrificer who is devoted.

O awakened Agni, now the dawn and sun rise; the moons and radiant ones with beams are worshipables. The Asvins, approaching for life, drove the chariot; Savitā the god set the world apart.

If you couple the mighty chariot with the Asvins, with ghee and sweet drink, the warrior strength will be loosened. May our power prevail among foes; we, rich in wealth and valor, shall worship.

O Asvins, honey‑bearing chariot, the slow horse may come like a chariot of bliss; the three‑fold mighty one, rich in splendor and friend of the world, grant peace to both two‑ and four‑footed creatures.
