The ocean not crossed at first produced the ordinance; guardians of the world generated people. Bulls, holy above, mighty Soma swelled like a great mountain.

Great Soma made great the bull and fashioned waters whose womb encircled the gods. To Indra he gave abundant vigour; he produced strength in the sun, the splendour of Indu.

He who drinks the purified waters gathered by sages, tasting the pressed juice—he partakes wholly of the purified; the mother‑swift (fire) enjoys the nectar.
