उपा॑स्मै गायता नरः॒ पव॑माना॒येन्द॑वे । अ॒भि दे॒वाँ इय॑क्षते
upāsmai gāyatā naraḥ pavamānāyendave abhi devām̐ iyakṣate
A man sings to him approaching, purified for the sacrifice; he beholds the gods in assembly.

अ॒भि ते॒ मधु॑ना॒ पयोऽथ॑र्वाणो अशिश्रयुः । दे॒वं दे॒वाय॑ देव॒यु
abhi te madhunā payo'tharvāṇo aśiśrayuḥ devaṃ devāya devayu
They approached with honey, with milk and sacred songs; the gods, the lord of gods, for the drink of Soma.

स नः॑ पवस्व॒ शं गवे॒ शं जना॑य॒ शमर्व॑ते । शं रा॑ज॒न्नोष॑धीभ्यः
sa naḥ pavasva śaṃ gave śaṃ janāya śamarvate śaṃ rājannoṣadhībhyaḥ
May he make us pure, the purifier of wealth, purifying the people and keeping peace; may he grant rule, may he grant herbs.

ब॒भ्रवे॒ नु स्वत॑वसेऽरु॒णाय॑ दिवि॒स्पृशे॑ । सोमा॑य गा॒थम॑र्चत
babhrave nu svatavase'ruṇāya divispṛśe somāya gāthamarcata
The brown-armed one, freshly shining, touched Aruṇa in heaven; he sung a hymn to Soma.

हस्त॑च्युतेभि॒रद्रि॑भिः सु॒तं सोमं॑ पुनीतन । मधा॒वा धा॑वता॒ मधु॑
hastacyutebhiradribhiḥ sutaṃ somaṃ punītana madhāvā dhāvatā madhu
With hands washed by streams and mountain-cliffs they purified Soma; the mead-runners (madha-vā) poured the sweet drink.

नम॒सेदुप॑ सीदत द॒ध्नेद॒भि श्री॑णीतन । इन्दु॒मिन्द्रे॑ दधातन
namasedupa sīdata dadhnedabhi śrīṇītana indumindre dadhātana
They praised and sat, they gave oblations and drew near, placing praise upon Indu and Indra.

amitrahā vicarṣaṇiḥ pavasva soma śaṃ gave devebhyo anukāmakṛt
The enemy-slayer aroused, the purifier Soma, auspicious for the people; he acted with desire toward the gods.

इन्द्रा॑य सोम॒ पात॑वे॒ मदा॑य॒ परि॑ षिच्यसे । म॒न॒श्चिन्मन॑स॒स्पतिः॑
indrāya soma pātave madāya pari ṣicyase manaścinmanasaspatiḥ
For Indra, for Soma, you press out (the juice) for ecstasy; the lord who wins hearts is of the mind.

पव॑मान सु॒वीर्यं॑ र॒यिं सो॑म रिरीहि नः । इन्द॒विन्द्रे॑ण नो यु॒जा
pavamāna suvīryaṃ rayiṃ soma rirīhi naḥ indavindreṇa no yujā
Purifying, heroic, bring wealth — Soma, bring prosperity to us; join Indra with Indra for us.
