त्यान्नु क्ष॒त्रिया॒ँ अव॑ आदि॒त्यान्या॑चिषामहे । सु॒मृ॒ळी॒काँ अ॒भिष्ट॑ये
tyānnu kṣatriyām̐ ava ādityānyāciṣāmahe sumṛḷīkām̐ abhiṣṭaye
We call forth the Kshatriya and the primal Ādityas; we invoke the radiant ones for attainment of our desire.

मि॒त्रो नो॒ अत्यं॑ह॒तिं वरु॑णः पर्षदर्य॒मा । आ॒दि॒त्यासो॒ यथा॑ वि॒दुः
mitro no atyaṃhatiṃ varuṇaḥ parṣadaryamā ādityāso yathā viduḥ
May Mitra for us and Varuṇa with Pṛṣṭhadarī and Aryamā uphold us—so the Ādityas are known.

teṣāṃ hi citramukthyaṃ1 varūthamasti dāśuṣe ādityānāmaraṃkṛte
For them a wondrous feast is spread, a heroic banquet set in the home of worship—the Ādityas fashioned the immortal share.

महि॑ वो मह॒तामवो॒ वरु॑ण॒ मित्रार्य॑मन् । अवां॒स्या वृ॑णीमहे
mahi vo mahatāmavo varuṇa mitrāryaman avāṃsyā vṛṇīmahe
O great ones, we glorify you, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryamā; we choose you for our prosperity.

जी॒वान्नो॑ अ॒भि धे॑त॒नादि॑त्यासः पु॒रा हथा॑त् । कद्ध॑ स्थ हवनश्रुतः
jīvānno abhi dhetanādityāsaḥ purā hathāt kaddha stha havanaśrutaḥ
May the Ādityas first grant us nourishment and life, as they granted long ago; who now is he famed for the sacrificial voice?

yadvaḥ śrāntāya sunvate varūthamasti yacchardiḥ tenā no adhi vocata
When you, weary, have rested and the banquet is ready, the streaming (riches) spoke over us; by that he addressed us.

अस्ति॑ देवा अं॒होरु॒र्वस्ति॒ रत्न॒मना॑गसः । आदि॑त्या॒ अद्भु॑तैनसः
asti devā aṃhorurvasti ratnamanāgasaḥ ādityā adbhutainasaḥ
The gods are beholden to the radiant east, where a wondrous jewel appears; the Ādityas are marvelous of might.

mā naḥ setuḥ siṣedayaṃ mahe vṛṇaktu naspari indra iddhi śruto vaśī
Let not this bridge of ours fall; grant us great boon without separation. Indra, famed and sovereign, hear.

Do not let us be deceived by the enemies, those who strip men of their riches; O gods, protect us from them.

O Aditi, I speak to you: grant the desired and fruitful blessing for my prosperity.

पर्षि॑ दी॒ने ग॑भी॒र आँ उग्र॑पुत्रे॒ जिघां॑सतः । माकि॑स्तो॒कस्य॑ नो रिषत्
parṣi dīne gabhīra ām̐ ugraputre jighāṃsataḥ mākistokasya no riṣat
O Parśi, protector of the poor and deep, who seeks the fierce sons—let not the cry of our wailing be heard.

अ॒ने॒हो न॑ उरुव्रज॒ उरू॑चि॒ वि प्रस॑र्तवे । कृ॒धि तो॒काय॑ जी॒वसे॑
aneho na uruvraja urūci vi prasartave kṛdhi tokāya jīvase
Do not stretch out your bosom wide upon us; make fertile the throat—so may I live for the chosen voice.

ये मू॒र्धानः॑ क्षिती॒नामद॑ब्धासः॒ स्वय॑शसः । व्र॒ता रक्ष॑न्ते अ॒द्रुहः॑
ye mūrdhānaḥ kṣitīnāmadabdhāsaḥ svayaśasaḥ vratā rakṣante adruhaḥ
Those who are chiefs of the earth, self-glorious, sprung from the depths of the waters, the vowed uphold the platforms.

ते न॑ आ॒स्नो वृका॑णा॒मादि॑त्यासो मु॒मोच॑त । स्ते॒नं ब॒द्धमि॑वादिते
te na āsno vṛkāṇāmādityāso mumocata stenaṃ baddhamivādite
They did not forsake the wolves' beginning; the Ādityas released blame. I have bound that which was spoken.

अपो॒ षु ण॑ इ॒यं शरु॒रादि॑त्या॒ अप॑ दुर्म॒तिः । अ॒स्मदे॒त्वज॑घ्नुषी
apo ṣu ṇa iyaṃ śarurādityā apa durmatiḥ asmadetvajaghnuṣī
Waters, not worse than this, are from the swift-born Āditya; evil counsel be far. They struck down our banner.

śaśvaddhi vaḥ sudānava ādityā ūtibhirvayam purā nūnaṃ bubhujmahe
Always indeed your generous Ādityas, with offerings, we previously did partake; we ate abundant food.

शश्व॑न्तं॒ हि प्र॑चेतसः प्रति॒यन्तं॑ चि॒देन॑सः । देवाः॑ कृणु॒थ जी॒वसे॑
śaśvantaṃ hi pracetasaḥ pratiyantaṃ cidenasaḥ devāḥ kṛṇutha jīvase
Indeed the gods, mindful and attentive, renew what is everlastingly in the minds and grant life.

तत्सु नो॒ नव्यं॒ सन्य॑स॒ आदि॑त्या॒ यन्मुमो॑चति । ब॒न्धाद्ब॒द्धमि॑वादिते
tatsu no navyaṃ sanyasa ādityā yanmumocati bandhādbaddhamivādite
Grant us that new release which the Ādityas bestow, I have bound the fettered as spoken.

नास्माक॑मस्ति॒ तत्तर॒ आदि॑त्यासो अति॒ष्कदे॑ । यू॒यम॒स्मभ्यं॑ मृळत
nāsmākamasti tattara ādityāso atiṣkade yūyamasmabhyaṃ mṛḷata
There is no one for us greater than those few Ādityas; meditate upon us, O you who are lofty.

mā no hetirvivasvata ādityāḥ kṛtrimā śaruḥ purā nu jaraso vadhīt
O Vivasvat, do not come thus—the Ādityas made an artful device; once indeed the old man would have slain.

वि षु द्वेषो॒ व्यं॑ह॒तिमादि॑त्यासो॒ वि संहि॑तम् । विष्व॒ग्वि वृ॑हता॒ रपः॑
vi ṣu dveṣo vyaṃhatimādityāso vi saṃhitam viṣvagvi vṛhatā rapaḥ
Hostility is poison; the Ādityas struck down enmity together; the earth grows forth with abundant vigour.
