इन्द्रा॒ नु पू॒षणा॑ व॒यं स॒ख्याय॑ स्व॒स्तये॑ । हु॒वेम॒ वाज॑सातये
indrā nu pūṣaṇā vayaṃ sakhyāya svastaye huvema vājasātaye
Indra and Pūṣan, we invoke for friendship and welfare; we cry aloud for heroic strength.

सोम॑म॒न्य उपा॑सद॒त्पात॑वे च॒म्वोः॑ सु॒तम् । क॒र॒म्भम॒न्य इ॑च्छति
somamanya upāsadatpātave camvoḥ sutam karambhamanya icchati
They sought Soma and the pure draught; the drinking-place desired sweet barley and another kind of offering.

अ॒जा अ॒न्यस्य॒ वह्न॑यो॒ हरी॑ अ॒न्यस्य॒ सम्भृ॑ता । ताभ्यां॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ जिघ्नते
ajā anyasya vahnayo harī anyasya sambhṛtā tābhyāṃ vṛtrāṇi jighnate
One’s own fire consumed another’s offering; one’s own support took what another had borne; by them the Vṛtras are slain.

यदिन्द्रो॒ अन॑य॒द्रितो॑ म॒हीर॒पो वृष॑न्तमः । तत्र॑ पू॒षाभ॑व॒त्सचा॑
yadindro anayadrito mahīrapo vṛṣantamaḥ tatra pūṣābhavatsacā
When Indra, unopposed, pressed forth, the mountain cows poured abundant rain; there Pūṣan stood as comrade.

तां पू॒ष्णः सु॑म॒तिं व॒यं वृ॒क्षस्य॒ प्र व॒यामि॑व । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ चा र॑भामहे
tāṃ pūṣṇaḥ sumatiṃ vayaṃ vṛkṣasya pra vayāmiva indrasya cā rabhāmahe
That Pūṣan of good counsel I set like the tree’s spreading growth; we extol Indra’s glory.

उत्पू॒षणं॑ युवामहे॒ऽभीशू॑ँरिव॒ सार॑थिः । म॒ह्या इन्द्रं॑ स्व॒स्तये॑
utpūṣaṇaṃ yuvāmahe'bhīśūm̐riva sārathiḥ mahyā indraṃ svastaye
We proclaim Pūṣan foremost, like a trusted charioteer; grant well-being to Indra for our sake.
