मृत्युञ्जयविधिं सूत ब्रह्मक्षत्रविशामपि। वक्तुमर्हसि चास्माकं सर्वज्ञो ऽसि महामते।।
mṛtyuñjayavidhiṃ sūta brahmakṣatraviśāmapi| vaktumarhasi cāsmākaṃ sarvajño 'si mahāmate||
The sages said: O Sūta, it behoves you to recount now the rite of conquering death relating to the Brahmins, Kṣatriyas and Vaiśyas. O sage of great intellect, you are omniscient.

मृत्युञ्जयविधिं वक्ष्ये बहुना किं द्विजोत्तमाः। रुद्राध्यायेन विधिना घृतेन नियुतं क्रमात।।
mṛtyuñjayavidhiṃ vakṣye bahunā kiṃ dvijottamāḥ| rudrādhyāyena vidhinā ghṛtena niyutaṃ kramāt||

सघृतेन तिलेनैव कमलेन प्रयत्नतः। दूर्वया घृतगोक्षीरमिश्रया मधुना तथा।।
saghṛtena tilenaiva kamalena prayatnataḥ| dūrvayā ghṛtagokṣīramiśrayā madhunā tathā||

चरुणा सघृतेनैव केवलं पयसापि वा। जुहुयात्काल मृत्योर्वा प्रतीकारः प्रकीर्तितः।।
caruṇā saghṛtenaiva kevalaṃ payasāpi vā| juhuyātkāla mṛtyorvā pratīkāraḥ prakīrtitaḥ||
