प्रवालं कारयेद्विद्वान्प्रवालेन द्रुमस्य तु। फलानि पद्मरागैश्च परितो ऽस्य सुशोभयेत।।
pravālaṃ kārayedvidvānpravālena drumasya tu| phalāni padmarāgaiśca parito 'sya suśobhayet||
Sanatkumāra said: The new shoots of the tree shall be depicted by the devotee by using coral. He shall beautify the branches all round by means of rubies depicting the fruits.

मूलं च नीलरत्नेन वज्रेण स्कन्धमुत्तमम। वैडूर्येण द्रुमाग्रं च पुष्परागेण मस्तकम।।
mūlaṃ ca nīlaratnena vajreṇa skandhamuttamam| vaiḍūryeṇa drumāgraṃ ca puṣparāgeṇa mastakam||
Sanatkumāra said: The root shall be depicted by using the blue gem; the stem by using diamonds; the tip of the tree by Vaidūrya (Lapis Lazuli) and topaz.

गोमेदकेन वै कन्दं सूर्यकान्तेन सुव्रत। चन्द्रकान्तेन वा वेदीं द्रुमस्य स्फटिकेन वा।।
gomedakena vai kandaṃ sūryakāntena suvrata| candrakāntena vā vedīṃ drumasya sphaṭikena vā||
Sanatkumāra said: O sage of good holy rites, the bulbous root shall be depicted by the Gomedaka gem. The platform round the tree shall be depicted by the solar or the lunar stone or by crystals.

वितस्तिमात्रमायामं वृक्षस्य परिकीर्तितम। शाखाष्टकस्य मानं च विस्तारं चोर्ध्वतस्तथा।।
vitastimātramāyāmaṃ vṛkṣasya parikīrtitam| śākhāṣṭakasya mānaṃ ca vistāraṃ cordhvatastathā||
Sanatkumāra said: The width of the tree including the eight branches, and the height of the tree shall be one cubit.

तन्मूले स्तापयेल्लिङ्गं लोकपालैः समावृतम। पूर्वोक्तवेदिमध्ये तु मण्डले स्थाप्य पादपम।।
tanmūle stāpayelliṅgaṃ lokapālaiḥ samāvṛtam| pūrvoktavedimadhye tu maṇḍale sthāpya pādapam||
Sanatkumāra said: The devotee shall place the Liṅga at its root. It shall be surrounded by the guardians of the quarters. The tree shall be placed on the Maṇḍala in the middle of the altar mentioned before. The devotee shall then assiduously worship lord Īśāna and the guardians of the quarters. As before, Japa, Homa and other rites shall be performed as in the rite Tulādhāna. O king, the devotee shall dedicate the tree to the lord or offer it to yogins or to persons who smear their bodies with Bhasman. The king will become an emperor.

पूजये द्देवमीशानं लोकपालांश्च यत्नतः। पूर्ववज्जपहोमाद्यं तुलाभारवदाचरेत।।
pūjaye ddevamīśānaṃ lokapālāṃśca yatnataḥ| pūrvavajjapahomādyaṃ tulābhāravadācaret||
Sanatkumāra said: The devotee shall place the Liṅga at its root. It shall be surrounded by the guardians of the quarters. The tree shall be placed on the Maṇḍala in the middle of the altar mentioned before. The devotee shall then assiduously worship lord Īśāna and the guardians of the quarters.
