Shri Shuka said: Your question is indeed superior, done for the welfare of the world, O king. It is esteemed by the wise as the highest among what should be heard.

Mothers lament for their sons, relatives for their kinsman, and houses for their inhabitants, but all are ultimately conquered by time alone, which abandons all affectionate bonds.

There, one should meditate on the single essence with an undistracted mind. By focusing the mind on the object of meditation, one should not remember anything else. That is the supreme abode of Vishnu, where the mind finds peace.

The mind, entangled in the modes of passion and ignorance, becomes bewildered. The wise one, through the practice of restraint, destroys the impurities created by that.

The essence of the divine form, which I have described to you, is contained in this body. In this vast form, the mind, with its own intelligence, does not perceive anything.

The Supreme Self, who is experienced by all minds, is like the one seen in dreams. One should worship Him, the treasure of truth and bliss, and not seek anything else, for that leads to self-destruction.
