न॒हि ते॑ अग्ने त॒न्वः क्रू॒रमा॒नंश॒ मर्त्यः॑ । क॒पिर्ब॑भस्ति॒ तेज॑नं॒ स्वं ज॒रायु॒ गौरि॑व ॥१॥
nahi te agne tanvaḥ krūram ānaṃśa martyaḥ. kapir babhasti tejanaṃ svaṃ jarāyu gaur iva
Agni, no mortal lays a cruel blemish on your body. The tawny one licks his own begetting, like a cow her calf’s membrane.

मे॒ष इ॑व॒ वै सं च॒ वि चो॒र्व॒ऽच्यसे॒ यदु॑त्तर॒द्रावुप॑रश्च॒ खाद॑तः । शी॒र्ष्णा शिरोऽप्स॒साप्सो॑ अ॒र्दय॑न्नं॒शून् ब॑भस्ति॒ हरि॑तेभिरा॒सभिः॑ ॥२॥
meṣa iva vai saṃ ca vi corv acyase yad uttaradrāv uparaś ca khādataḥ. śīrṣṇā śiro ’psas apso ardayann aṃśūn babhasti haritebhir āsabhiḥ
Like a ram you are driven together and apart; when, faster and slower, they chew above and below. With head striking head you crush the skulls in the waters, you lick up the sap with tawny jaws.

सु॒प॒र्णा वाच॑मक्र॒तोप॒ द्यव्या॑ख॒रे कृष्णा॑ इषि॒रा अ॑नर्तिषुः । नि यन्नि॒यन्त्युप॑रस्य॒ निष्कृ॑तिं पु॒रू रेतो॑ दधिरे सूर्य॒श्रितः॑ ॥३॥
suparṇā vācam akrator dyavyākhare kṛṣṇā iṣirā anartiṣuḥ. ni yan niyanty uparasya niṣkṛtiṃ purū reto dadhire sūryaśritaḥ
The fair-winged ones fashioned speech and carved the heavenly and the earthly; the dark, eager ones set it in motion. When they restrain the outlet above, many seeds they placed, resting in Sūrya.
