देवाः॑ क॒पोत॑ इषि॒तो यदि॒छन् दू॒तो निरृ॑त्या इ॒दमा॑ज॒गाम॑ । तस्मा॑ अर्चाम कृ॒णवा॑म॒ निष्कृ॑तिं॒ शं नो अस्तु द्वि॒पदे॒ शं चतु॑ष्पदे ॥१॥
devāḥ kapota iṣito yadicchan dūto nirṛtyā idam ājagāma | tasmā arcāma kṛṇavāma niṣkṛtiṃ śaṃ no astu dvipade śaṃ catuṣpade
If the gods, as a kapota, have sent a messenger of Nirṛti and he has arrived, then let us honor him and make amends. May it be well with our bipeds and quadrupeds.

शि॒वः क॒पोत॒ इषि॒तो नो॑ अस्त्वना॒गा दे॑वाः शकु॒नो गृ॒हं नः॑ । अ॒ग्निर्हि विप्रो॑ जु॒षतां॑ ह॒विर्नः॒ परि॑ हे॒तिः प॒क्षिणी॑ नो वृणक्तु ॥२॥
śivaḥ kapota iṣito no astv anāghā devāḥ śakuno gṛhaṃ naḥ | agnir hi vipro juṣatāṃ havir naḥ pari hetiḥ pakṣiṇī no vṛṇaktu
May the god-sent kapota be auspicious to us and guiltless; may the divine bird enter our house. May Agni the inspired priest accept our offering; may the winged shaft ward us off.

हे॒तिः प॒क्षिणी॒ न द॑भात्य॒स्माना॒ष्ट्री प॒दं कृ॑णुते अग्नि॒धाने॑ । शि॒वो गोभ्य॑ उ॒त पुरु॑षेभ्यो नो अस्तु॒ मा नो॑ देवा इ॒ह हिं॑सीत् क॒पोतः॑ ॥३॥
hetiḥ pakṣiṇī na dabhāty asmān aṣṭrī padaṃ kṛṇute agnidhāne. śivo gobhya uta puruṣebhyo no astu mā no devā iha hiṃsīt kapotaḥ.
May the winged missile not harm us; may the eight-formed lay down its step in the fire-altar. Let there be welfare for our cows and for our men; O gods, let not the pigeon injure us here.
