अनुष्टुप्; १, ७ भुरिक् त्रिष्टुप्, ३ त्रिष्टुप्, ५ विराट् प्रस्तारपङ्क्तिः। भू॒तो भू॒तेषु॒ पय॒ आ द॑धाति॒ स भू॒ताना॒मधि॑पतिर्बभूव । तस्य॑ मृ॒त्युश्च॑रति राज॒सूयं॒ स राजा॑ रा॒ज्यमनु॑ मन्यतामि॒दम् ॥१॥
bhūto bhūteṣu paya ā dadhāti sa bhūtānām adhipatir babhūva tasya mṛtyuś carati rājasūyaṃ sa rājā rājyam anu manyatām idam
The being places sustenance among beings and becomes their overlord. Death circles his royal consecration; let him deem this his kingship.

अ॒भि प्रेहि॒ माप॑ वेन उ॒ग्रश्चे॒त्ता स॑पत्न॒हा। आ ति॑ष्ठ मित्रवर्धन॒ तुभ्यं॑ दे॒वा अधि॑ ब्रुवन्॥२॥
abhi prehi mā pa vena ugraś cetta sapatnahā ā tiṣṭha mitravardhana tubhyaṃ devā adhi bruvan
Advance and overtake; do not falter, O Vena—fierce discerner, slayer of rivals. Stand firm, friend-increaser; the gods have declared for you.

आ॒तिष्ठ॑न्तं॒ परि॒ विश्वे॑ अभूषं॒छ्रियं॒ वसा॑नश्चरति॒ स्वरो॑चिः । म॒हत् तद् वृष्णो॒ असु॑रस्य॒ नामा वि॒श्वरू॑पो अ॒मृता॑नि तस्थौ ॥३॥
ātiṣṭhantaṃ pari viśve abhūṣaṃ śriyaṃ vasānaś carati svarociḥ mahat tad vṛṣṇo asurasya nāmā viśvarūpo amṛtāni tasthau
Ascending, I was adorned all around; wearing splendor, Svarocis moves. That is the great name of the mighty Asura; the all-formed one has stood among the immortal things.

व्या॒घ्रो अधि॒ वैया॑घ्रे॒ वि क्र॑मस्व॒ दिशो॑ म॒हीः । विश॑स्त्वा॒ सर्वा॑ वाञ्छ॒न्त्वापो॑ दिव्याः पय॑स्वतीः ॥४॥
vyāghro adhi vaiyāghre vi kramasva diśo mahīḥ viśas tvā sarvā vāñchantv āpo divyāḥ payasvatīḥ
As a tiger, stride forth in tiger-fashion across the great quarters. Let all clans desire you; let the heavenly, milk-rich waters favor you.

या आपो॑ दि॒व्याः पय॑सा॒ मद॑न्त्य॒न्तरि॑क्ष उ॒त वा॑ पृथि॒व्याम्। तासां॑ त्वा॒ सर्वा॑साम॒पाम॒भि॑ षि॑ञ्चामि॒ वर्च॑सा ॥५॥
yā āpo divyāḥ payasā madanty antarīkṣe uta vā pṛthivyām tāsāṃ tvā sarvāsām apām abhiṣiñcāmi varcasā
The waters that in heaven rejoice with milk, and in the midspace, and upon the earth—of all those waters I sprinkle you for radiance.

अ॒भि त्वा॒ वर्च॑सासिच॒न्नापो॑ दि॒व्याः पय॑स्वतीः । यथासो॑ मित्र॒वर्ध॑न॒स्तथा॑ त्वा सवि॒ता क॑रत्॥६॥
abhi tvā varcasāsicann āpo divyāḥ payasvatīḥ yathāso mitravardhanas tathā tvā savitā karat
I anoint you with radiance by the heavenly, milk-rich waters. As one who fosters Mitra, so may Savitṛ make you so.

ए॒ना व्या॒घ्रं प॑रिषस्वजा॒नाः सिं॒हं हि॑न्वन्ति मह॒ते सौभ॑गाय । स॒मु॒द्रं न सु॒भुव॑स्तस्थि॒वांसं॑ मर्मृ॒ज्यन्ते॑ द्वी॒पिन॑म॒प्स्व॑१न्तः ॥७॥
enā vyāghraṃ pariṣasvajānāḥ siṃhaṃ hinvanti mahate saubhagāya samudraṃ na subhuvas tasthivāṃsaṃ marmṛjyante dvīpinam apsv antaḥ
With this they surround the tiger; they urge on the lion for great good fortune. Like well-rooted trees they stand firm; they cleanse the island-dweller standing in the waters.
