म॒रुतां॑ मन्वे॒ अधि॑ मे ब्रुवन्तु॒ प्रेमं वाजं॒ वाज॑साते अवन्तु । आ॒शूनि॑व सु॒यमा॑नह्व ऊ॒तये॑ ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥१॥
marutāṃ manve adhi me bruvantu premaṃ vājaṃ vājasāte avantu | āśūniva suyamanahva ūtaye te no muñcantu aṃhasaḥ |
I call upon the Maruts—may they speak on my behalf. May the prize-winning givers of strength grant us bounty. Like swift ones, well-yoked when summoned to our aid, may they release us from affliction.

उत्स॒मक्षि॑तं॒ व्यच॑न्ति॒ ये सदा॒ य आ॑सि॒ञ्चन्ति॒ रस॒मोष॑धीषु । पु॒रो द॑धे मरुतः॒ पृश्नि॑मातृंस्ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥२॥
utsamakṣitaṃ vyacanti ye sadā ya āsicanti rasam oṣadhīṣu | puro dadhe marutaḥ pṛśnimātṛṃs te no muñcantu aṃhasaḥ |
Those who ever set in motion the unfailing spring, who pour the sap into the herbs—the Maruts of Pr̥śni as mother set in the forefront—may they release us from affliction.

पयो॑ धेनू॒नां रस॒मोष॑धीनां ज॒वमर्व॑तां कवयो॒ य इन्व॑थ । श॒ग्मा भ॑वन्तु म॒रुतो॑ नः स्यो॒नास्ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥३॥
payo dhenūnāṃ rasam oṣadhīnāṃ javam arvatāṃ kavayo ya invatha | śagmā bhavantu maruto naḥ syonās te no muñcantu aṃhasaḥ |
You who urge the milk of cows, the sap of plants, the speed of steeds, O sages—may the Maruts be auspicious and kindly to us; may they release us from affliction.

अ॒पः स॑मु॒द्राद् दिव॒मुद् व॑हन्ति दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒वीम॒भि ये सृ॒जन्ति॑ । ये अ॒द्भिरीशा॑ना म॒रुत॒श्चर॑न्ति ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥४॥
apaḥ samudrād divam ud vahanti divas pṛthivīm abhi ye sṛjanti | ye adbhir īśānā marutaś caranti te no muñcantu aṃhasaḥ |
The waters carry from the ocean up to the sky; those who fashion heaven and earth; the Maruts who range, sovereign with the waters—may they release us from affliction.

ये की॒लाले॑न त॒र्पय॑न्ति ये घृ॒तेन॒ ये वा॒ वयो॒ मेद॑सा संसृ॒जन्ति॑ । ये अ॒द्भिरीशा॑ना म॒रुतो॑ व॒र्षय॑न्ति॒ ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥५॥
ye kīlālena tarpayanti ye ghṛtena ye vā vayo medasā saṃsṛjanti | ye adbhir īśānā maruto varṣayanti te no muñcantu aṃhasaḥ |
Those who satisfy with the fermented draught, with ghee, or who blend the vital food with fat; the Maruts who, sovereign with the waters, let it rain—may they release us from affliction.

यदीदि॒दं मरु॑तो॒ मारु॑तेन॒ यदि॑ देवा॒ दैव्ये॑ने॒दृगार॑ । यू॒यमी॑शिध्वे वसव॒स्तस्य॒ निष्कृ॑ते॒स्ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥६॥
yad īdidaṃ maruto mārutena yadi devā daivyenedṛg āraḥ | yūyam īśidhve vasavas tasya niṣkṛtes te no muñcantv aṃhasaḥ
If this is of the Maruts by the Marut-power, if, O gods, this is by divine ordinance—do you, O Vasus, who rule over that release, free us from sin.

ति॒ग्ममनी॑कं विदि॒तं सह॑स्व॒न्मारु॑तं॒ शर्धः॒ पृत॑नासू॒ग्रम्। स्तौमि॑ म॒रुतो॑ नाथि॒तो जो॑हवीमि॒ ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥७॥
tigma-manīkaṃ viditaṃ sahasvan mārutaṃ śardhaḥ pṛtanāsu ugram | staumi maruto nāthito johavīmi te no muñcantv aṃhasaḥ
I praise the keen-faced, renowned, mighty Marut host, fierce in battle. I laud the Maruts and call on them; may they release us from sin.
