अ॒ग्नेर्म॑न्वे प्रथ॒मस्य॒ प्रचे॑तसः॒ पाञ्च॑जन्यस्य बहु॒धा यमि॒न्धते॑ । विशो॑ विशः प्रविशि॒वांस॑मीमहे॒ स नो मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥१॥
agner manve prathamasya pracetasaḥ pāñcajanyasya bahudhā yam indhate | viśo viśaḥ praviśivāṃsam īmahe sa no muñcatv aṃhasaḥ
I seek the first, far-seeing Agni of the Five Peoples, whom they kindle in many ways. Entering each clan, may he be ours; may he release us from sin.

यथा॑ ह॒व्यं वह॑सि जातवेदो॒ यथा॑ य॒ज्ञं क॒ल्पय॑सि प्रजा॒नन्। ए॒वा दे॒वेभ्यः॑ सुम॒तिं न॒ आ व॑ह॒ स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥२॥
yathā havyaṃ vahasi jātavedo yathā yajñaṃ kalpayasi prajānann | evā devebhyaḥ sumatiṃ na ā vaha sa no muñcatv aṃhasaḥ
As you carry the oblation, Jātavedas, as you skillfully set the sacrifice, so bring to us the good will of the gods. May he release us from sin.

याम॑न्याम॒न्नुप॑युक्तं॒ वहि॑ष्ठं॒ कर्म॑न्कर्म॒न्नाभ॑गम् । अ॒ग्निमी॑डे र॒क्षो॒हणं॑ यज्ञ॒वॄधं॑ घृ॒ताहु॑तं॒ स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥३॥
yām anyām ann upayuktaṃ vahiṣṭhaṃ karmaṇ karmaṇn ābhagam | agnim īḍe rakṣohaṇaṃ yajñavṛdhaṃ ghṛtāhutaṃ sa no muñcatv aṃhasaḥ
Carry every food, offered and uneaten, the best share of each rite, the portion of the rite’s lord. I praise Agni, slayer of demons, increaser of sacrifice, ghee-offered; may he release us from sin.

सुजा॑तं जा॒तवे॑दसम॒ग्निं वै॑श्वान॒रं वि॒भुम्। ह॒व्य॒वाहं॑ हवामहे॒ स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥४॥
sujātaṁ jātavedasam agniṁ vaiśvānaraṁ vibhum havya-vāhaṁ havāmahe sa no muñcatvaṁhasaḥ
We call upon the well-born Jātavedas, Agni Vaiśvānara, the all-pervading, the bearer of oblations; may he release us from sin.

येन॒ ऋष॑यो ब॒लमद्यो॑तयन् यु॒जा येनासु॑राणा॒मयु॑वन्त मा॒याः । येना॒ग्निना॑ प॒णीनिन्द्रो॑ जि॒गाय॒ स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥५॥
yena ṛṣayo balam adyotayan yujā yenāsurāṇām ayuvanta māyāḥ yenāgninā paṇīn indro jigāya sa no muñcatvaṁhasaḥ
By whom the ṛṣis kindled their strength, by whose yoke the Asuras’ magic was stripped of youth; with that Agni by whom Indra conquered the Paṇis—may he release us from sin.

येन॑ दे॒वा अ॒मृत॑म॒न्ववि॑न्द॒न् येनौष॑धी॒र्मधु॑मती॒रकृण्वन्। येन॑ दे॒वाः स्व॑१राभ॑र॒न्त्स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥६॥
yena devā amṛtam anvavindan yenauṣadhīr madhumatīr akṛṇvan yena devāḥ svar ābharant sa no muñcatvaṁhasaḥ
By which the gods found immortality, by which they made the herbs full of sweetness; by which the gods uphold their own—may it release us from sin.

यस्ये॒दं प्र॒दिशि॒ यद् वि॒रोच॑ते॒ यज्जा॒तं ज॑नित॒व्यंऽ च॒ केव॑लम्। स्तौम्य॒ग्निं ना॑थि॒तो जो॑हवीमि॒ स नो॑ मुञ्च॒त्वंह॑सः ॥७॥
yasya idaṁ pratiśi yad virocate yat jātaṁ janitavyaṁ ca kevalam stoumy agniṁ nāthito johavīmi sa no muñcatvaṁhasaḥ
Of whom this quarter is, of what shines, of what is born and yet to be born, the One alone—I praise Agni, I approach and invoke him; may he release us from sin.
