१-७ अथर्वा। इन्द्रः, २ पञ्च प्रदिशः, ४ अश्विनौ, मित्रावरुणौ, विश्वे देवाः, मरुतः, आ त्वा॑ गन् रा॒ष्ट्रं स॒ह वर्च॒सोदि॑हि प्रा॑ङ्वि वि॒शां पति॑रेक॒राट् त्वं वि रा॑ज । सर्वा॑स्त्वा राजन् प्र॒दिशो॑ ह्वयन्तूप॒सद्यो॑ नम॒स्योऽ भवे॒ह॥१॥
1-7 atharvā indraḥ 2 pañca pratiśaḥ 4 aśvinau mitrāvaruṇau viśve devāḥ maruta ā tvā gan rāṣṭraṃ saha varcasodihi prāṅ vi viśāṃ pati rekaraṭ tvaṃ vi rāj sarvā́s tvā rājan pradiśo hvayantūpasadyo namasyo bhaveha
Atharvan, Indra, the five quarters, the Aśvins, Mitra-Varuṇa, the All-gods, the Maruts—come to you. Rise with sovereignty and brilliance; go forth to the fore; be lord of the people, sole ruler; do you alone reign. May all the quarters summon you, O king; be approachable and worthy of reverence here.

त्वां विशो॑ वृणतां रा॒ज्याऽय॒ त्वामि॒माः प्र॒दिशः॒ पञ्च॑ दे॒वीः । वर्ष्म॑न् रा॒ष्ट्रस्य॑ क॒कुदि॑ श्रयस्व॒ ततो॑ न उ॒ग्रो वि भ॑जा॒ वसू॑नि ॥२॥
tvāṃ viśo vṛṇatāṃ rājyāya tvām imāḥ pradiśaḥ pañca devīḥ varṣman rāṣṭrasya kakudi śrayasva tato na ugro vibhajā vasūni
Let the clans choose you for kingship; let these five divine quarters choose you. Take your seat on the summit, on the crest of the realm; then, O mighty one, distribute the treasures to us.

अच्छ॑ त्वा यन्तु ह॒विनः॑ सजा॒ता अ॒ग्निर्दू॒तो अ॑जि॒रः सं च॑रातै । जा॒याः पु॒त्राः सु॒मन॑सो भवन्तु ब॒हुं ब॒लिं प्रति॑ पश्यासा उ॒ग्रः ॥३॥
accha tvā yantu havinaḥ sajātā agnir dūto ajiraḥ saṃ carātai jāyāḥ putrāḥ sumanaso bhavantu bahuṃ baliṃ pratipaśyāsa ugraḥ
Let the offerers born in your clan come to you; let Agni, the swift messenger, move with them. May wives and sons be of good will; O mighty one, behold abundant tribute paid to you.

अ॒श्विना॒ त्वाग्रे॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णो॒भा विश्वे॑ दे॒वा म॒रुत॑स्त्वा ह्वयन्तु । अधा॒ मनो॑ वसु॒देया॑य कृणुष्व॒ ततो॑ न उ॒ग्रो वि भ॑जा॒ वसू॑नि ॥४॥
aśvinā tvāgre mitrāvaruṇobhā viśve devā marutas tvā hvayantu | athā mano vasudeyāya kṛṇuṣva tato na ugro vi bhajā vasūni
May the Aśvins call you first, then Mitra and Varuṇa, all the gods, and the Maruts. Then set your mind on winning rich gifts, and after that, O Mighty One, share the treasures with us.

आ प्र द्र॑व पर॒मस्याः॑ परा॒वतः॑ शि॒वे ते॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒भे स्ता॑म्। तद॒यं राजा॒ वरु॑ण॒स्तथा॑ह॒ स त्वा॒यम॑ह्व॒त् स उपे॒दमेहि॑ ॥५॥
ā pra drava paramasyāḥ parāvataḥ śive te dyāvāpṛthivī ubhe stām | tad ayaṃ rājā varuṇas tathāha sa tvāyam ahvat sa upedam ehi
Come swiftly from the farthest distance; may Heaven and Earth, both auspicious, stand by you. This King Varuṇa has so ordained; he has called you—come right here to him.

इन्द्रे॑न्द्र मनु॒ष्याः॒३ परे॑हि॒ सं ह्यज्ञा॑स्था॒ वरु॑णैः संविदा॒नः । स त्वा॒यम॑ह्व॒त् स्वे स॒धस्थे॒ स दे॒वान् य॑क्ष॒त् स उ॑ कल्पया॒द् विशः॑ ॥६॥
indrendra manuṣyāḥ parehi saṃ hy ajñāsthā varuṇaiḥ saṃvidānaḥ | sa tvāyam ahvat sve sadhasethe sa devān yakṣat sa u kalpayād viśaḥ
Go forth, O Indra among men; the rites are set, in accord with the Varuṇas. He has called you to his own seat; let him worship the gods, and establish the clans well.

प॒थ्याऽ रे॒वती॑र्बहु॒धा विरू॑पाः॒ सर्वाः॑ सं॒गत्य॒ वरी॑यस्ते अक्रन्। तास्त्वा॒ सर्वाः॑ संविदा॒ना ह्व॑यन्तु दश॒मीमु॒ग्रः सु॒मना॑ वशे॒ह॥७॥
pathyā revatīr bahudhā virūpāḥ sarvāḥ saṃgatya varīyaste akran | tās tvā sarvāḥ saṃvidānā hvayantu daśamīm ugraḥ sumanā vaśeha
The paths, rich in favor, manifold, of many forms, have all come together and made you the foremost. May they all, in accord, summon you; on the tenth day, O Mighty, be gracious and under our sway here.
