१-६ अथर्वा। १ अग्निः, २ इन्द्रः, ३ वरुणः सोमः इन्द्रः, ४ श्येनः अश्विनौ, ५ इन्द्राग्नी विश्वे देवाः, अ॑चिक्रदत् स्व॒पा इ॒ह भु॑व॒दग्ने॒ व्यऽचस्व॒ रोद॑सी उरू॒ची। यु॒ञ्जन्तु॑ त्वा म॒रुतो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दस॒ आमुं न॑य॒ नम॑सा रा॒तह॑व्यम्॥१॥
acikradat svapā iha bhuvad agne vy acasva rodasī urūcī | yuñjantu tvā maruto viśvavedasa āmuṃ naya namasā rātahavyam
He cried out; may Agni here become auspicious and awake; blaze forth, making the two worlds wide. Let the Maruts, all-knowing, yoke you; bring here with obeisance the oblation won by gifts.

दू॒रे चि॒त् सन्त॑मरु॒षास॒ इन्द्र॒मा च्या॑वयन्तु स॒ख्याय॒ विप्र॑म्। यद् गा॑य॒त्रीं बृ॑ह॒तीम॒र्कम॑स्मै सौत्राम॒ण्या दधृ॑षन्त दे॒वाः ॥२॥
dūre cit santam aruṣāsa indram ā cyāvayantu sakhyāya vipram | yad gāyatrīṃ bṛhatīm arkam asmai sautrāmaṇyā dadhṛṣanta devāḥ
Even from afar let the ruddy ones move Indra, the inspired friend, to companionship, when the gods emboldened him with the Gāyatrī, the Bṛhatī, and the chant of Sautrāmaṇī.

अ॒द्भ्यस्त्वा॒ राजा॒ व॑रुणो ह्वयतु॒ सोम॑स्त्वा ह्वयतु॒ पर्व॑तेभ्यः । इन्द्र॑स्त्वा ह्वयतु वि॒ड्भ्य॑ आ॒भ्यः श्ये॒नो भू॒त्वा विश॒ आ प॑ते॒माः ॥३॥
adbhyas tvā rājā varuṇo hvayatu somas tvā hvayatu parvatebhyaḥ | indras tvā hvayatu viḍbhyā ābhyaḥ śyeno bhūtvā viśa ā patemāḥ
From the waters let King Varuṇa summon you; from the mountains let Soma summon you; from clans and homesteads let Indra summon you. Become a hawk and descend upon these people.

श्ये॒नो ह॒व्यं न॑य॒त्वा पर॑स्मादन्यक्षे॒त्रेअप॑रुद्धं॒ चर॑न्तम्। अ॒श्विना॒ पन्थां॑ कृणुतां सु॒गं त॑ इ॒मं स॑जाता अभि॒संवि॑शध्वम्॥४॥
śyeno havyaṃ nayatv ā parasmād anyakṣetre aparuddhaṃ carantam | aśvinā panthāṃ kṛṇutāṃ sugaṃ ta imaṃ sajātā abhi saṃviśadhvam
May the hawk bear the oblation away from the other, from another field, snatching it as it moves. O Aśvins, make the path easy for him. O kinsmen, enter together and unite.

ह्वय॑न्तु त्वा प्रतिज॒नाः प्रति॑ मित्रा अ॑वृषत । इ॒न्द्रा॒ग्नी विश्वे॑ दे॒वास्ते वि॒शि क्षेम॑मदीधरन्॥५॥
hvayantu tvā pratijanāḥ prati mitrā avṛṣata indrāgnī viśve devās te viśi kṣemam adīdharan
Let the clans call you; let Mitra send you forth. May Indra and Agni, and all the gods, bring you here in peace to dwell among the people.

यस्ते॒ हवं वि॒वद॑त् सजा॒तो यश्च॒ निष्ट्यः॑ । अ॑पाञ्चमिन्द्र॒ तं कृ॒त्वाथे॒ममि॒हाव॑ गमय ॥६॥
yas te havaṃ vivadat sajāto yaś ca niṣṭyaḥ apāñcam indra taṃ kṛtvāthemam ihāva gamaya
Whoever of your kin contests the call, and whoever is an outsider—O Indra, turn him away to the far side, and bring this man here to us.
